Just as there are multiple types of Pokemon in a fictional world, there’s a multitude of scammer types in this world too.
Though there’s just one tiny difference; instead of being generic fire, water or grass types, these scammers operate in much more modern fashion:
Cash, employment, love… you name it, they have it. In fact, I would go so far as to say that they have toilet scammer prototypes too, seeing how there are certainly shitty ploys in place even now.

Yet, even with the large collection of scammer types out there, one manages to stick out like a sore thumb. But then again, it’s really kind of hard not to, when these scammers don’t really try to conceal their identities and all. After all…
They actually get in your face.
Oftentimes, it works, and the victim’s left muddled and helpless as a wad of banknotes goes towards the perpetrator’s ‘hospitalisation fees’. But in rare instances, the tactic fails, and the perpetrator is left in a glaring spotlight as they retreat and look for their next victim. Like this certain lady over here.
A couple of days ago, this lovely female over here tried to fake her ‘death’ a couple of times.
But suffice it to say that it didn’t quite work the way she wanted it to.
What happened?
On 29 Oct, Facebook page ROADS.sg posted a video on its page, in which a female can clearly be seen running towards the car before ducking slightly as if to emulate a fast falling motion.
Unfortunately, the ill-disguised ploy didn’t quite work, as the car stopped a clear distance away from her. The female then walks almost nonchalantly towards the car, before realising that it’s equipped with a dash cam.
At this point, she hurriedly scoots off.

But if you thought that she would’ve learnt her lesson, well…
You’re so wrong it ain’t even funny.
As it turns out, there was a car right behind this particular one.
And yeah, it happened exactly the way you’re envisioning it.
Fall down seven times, stand up eight.

Naturally, the kind citizens of Internetville weren’t possibly gonna let this go.
While some straight-up berated the wannabe scammer…
There were also some that advised the importance of dash and rear cams…
As well as the tactic to employ should you not have the cams in question.

One even proposed that the law get a little fix, so that these scammers will totally ‘cease to exist’.
Which I guess could work, but I have a feeling it wouldn’t be in place for at least another few years.
Or more, depending.
What was the lady smoking?
Not, she wasn’t smoking Marlboro, but she was doing something known as “porcelain bumping“.
So basically, these fraudsters would throw themselves in danger’s way and demand money for their injuries. With more vehicles having dashboard camera, it has somehow become harder to pull it off.
And by the way, it’s called “porcelain bumping” because some dishonest shopkeepers would put porcelain in a position whereby it’s easily get knocked over by clumsy customers.

Upon reaching the end of this particular article, you can’t help but wonder what it all means for you. Or me. Or everyone else.

Install some good old dash cams in your car, front and back.
