Ever since the recent peeping tom incident involving Monica Baey which went viral, you would think that aspiring peeping tom(???) would eventually realise that what they were going to do would get them into trouble. Lots of trouble.
But people don’t learn.

Another Incident
On Saturday (11 May 2019), a female student who studied at the National University of Singapore (NUS) was allegedly filmed by another student in a bathroom. The incident took place at a residence hall, Raffles Hall.
A police report was made about the incident and the suspect was apprehended by the police.
The police said they received a call for assistance at around 8:10 a.m. on the day of the incident, and eventually arrested the 26-year-old male student.
The student was a resident of the same residential hall as the victim, and was arrested for charges of criminal trespass. He was caught thanks to the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage which was installed recently. According to the Straits Times, it was installed last Friday.
It’s what he deserves.
Now, here’s something new to this case.

In a new statement, it was revealed that the man was also believed to be involved in other similar cases.

Also, the student had changed his attire immediately after the alleged incident to avoid being identified or caught.
A spokesman from NUS said that the university is working closely with the police for investigations and will also take necessary disciplinary actions. They are also providing the victim with “dedicated support and assistance”.
The police said that the man in the recent case is expected to be charged with criminal trespass, and with insulting the modesty of a woman.
Well, given that it’s not his first offence, it’s not going to be a 12-month conditional warning #justsaying
If he is convicted of criminal trespass, he could be sentenced up to three months of jail or fined up to $1,500. Or both.

And if he is convicted of insulting the modesty of a woman, he could face a jail term of up to a year, or a fine. Or again, both.
Let’s hope the offender is punished for his wrongdoings, and the victim can heal from this incident.
