Macau Billionaire Paid Model $52 Million ‘BreakUp Fee’ As He Didn’t Want To Divorce Wife

Breakups are hard.

It can leave you balling your eyes out while eating tubs after tubs of ice cream.

But when your ex just so happens to be a billionaire worth no less than US$2 billion, you might find yourself with a “breakup fee”.

And that was exactly what happened between Macau’s gambling tycoon Alvin Chua and model/actress Mandy Lieu.

Alvin Chau Is A Hit With The Ladies

Before we dive into his relationship with Mandy Lieu… let’s dive a little into his history with girls.

Alvin Chau is known not only for his money but also for his flirtatious nature.

Not only has he been through a divorce and a second marriage, but he also has a track record of sleeping with other women while in a committed relationship.

According to Jaynestars, he has been romantically linked to TVB actress Kibby Lau, model Mango Wong, ATV beauty queen Michelle Feng and Ellen Chan.

Well, it’s not that hard when you have above the charisma, looks and the moolah. 

The History Between Chau and Liew 

Chau and Lieu were first spotted in various events together back in 2014. The model even spoke to the media about how she was developing a relationship with the gambling tycoon.

All was good… except, Chau was actually still married to his second wife, Heidi Chan.

According to Mothership, the model said that she did not know about his marriage.

I guess ignorance is bliss.

However, even after Chau’s marital status came to light, it did not stop the model from pursuing things with the tycoon.

Lieu was even pregnant with his child in late 2014. And Chau’s actual wife was also pregnant with his child then.

Awkward. 

Lieu went on to bear two more of Chau’s children in a span of five years.

While his wife, Heidi Chan did request a divorce upon discovery of the affair, Chau rejected it.

However, it seemed after a period of time, she had “accepted his cheating” because “there is only one Mrs Chau”, according to an article.

In a 100-word statement in response to the rumours regarding her husband’s infidelity,  it was made clear that Chan was confident of her own status as Mrs Chau. She even remarked that it was not uncommon for men to cheat.

His Wife “Won” In The End 

Even though the ladies in Chau’s life was seen provoking each other on social media in 2015, the love triangle seems to be finally over.

During this period of time, Chan has turned things around in her favour. She is now close to Chau’s father and has proven to everyone that she needs no man to succeed in life.

She was able to take care of her family while running businesses which won her recognition for her entrepreneurship.

Many speculated that this was the reason why Chau refused to get a divorce from Chan.

Mandy Lieu Wanted An “Official Title”

By an “official title”, she probably had hinted that she wanted Chau to get a divorce with Chan.

However, even after a five-year relationship which left her with three of Chau’s children, she knows that the odds are tilted against her.

Their scandalous relationship has reportedly ended.

“Breakup Fee” 

To soften the blow of the breakup, Chau had allegedly paid Lieu with a SGD$52 million “breakup fee”.

It also claimed that the tycoon has agreed to pay child support and visit their children in London every month.

Lieu is rarely seen in public in recent years and it is reported that she is dedicated to taking care of her children abroad.

Dating a rich man might sound pretty good… until you learn that he’s married. And if the article has taught me anything, it’s that the wife always win.
