Police are investigating a 35-year-old Singaporean man over an alleged remark about a bomb in his vehicle at Woodlands Checkpoint on 4 October 2026.
Remark Followed Vehicle Checks
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) gave details of the incident on 6 October. According to its account, the man had five companions with him when the group was sent to the Arrival Cargo Zone for enhanced checks.
The inspection had ended when he allegedly made the remark. ICA described his comments about officers finding a bomb in the vehicle as taunting.
Officers restricted access to the area immediately. Additional resources were brought in to check both the vehicle and the travellers again.
Those checks found no bomb.
Police Investigation Continues
The man was subsequently referred to police. Investigations remained ongoing in the latest report published on 6 October.
ICA said it would investigate reported security threats thoroughly and take action over false or misleading claims that could alarm others.
It also urged travellers to behave appropriately and follow checkpoint officers’ directions.
