A man was caught on CCTV allegedly taking a speaker from a mobile phone shop at Bukit Batok Street 31 in the middle of the afternoon.
The incident reportedly happened at about 2pm on Wednesday, 16 September, at Top One Communication. Police have confirmed that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.
CCTV Shows Man Looking Around Before Taking Speaker
Footage posted by the shop on TikTok shows a man in a black top standing near the shop’s counter.
According to 8world, the man appeared to look around several times while standing there and, at one point, looked towards the CCTV camera. Members of the public could be seen walking past the shop during the incident.
The footage then shows him reaching into a storage area behind the counter and taking out a speaker.
AsiaOne reported that he opened a cupboard behind the counter before removing the item. He then placed the speaker into a plastic bag he was carrying, looked around again and walked away.
The footage was subsequently circulated online by the shop.
Police Confirm Report Was Lodged
Police confirmed to both AsiaOne and 8world that a report had been lodged over the incident.
Investigations are ongoing.
