You may have seen sweet lovers posts on the 20th of May just a few days ago, but if you weren’t sure what the sudden influx of mushy words was for, it’s because that day was the Chinese Valentine’s Day, or so it’s called.
20 May can be written as 520, which sounds like ‘I love you’ in Chinese.
It’s a day for couples to show their love and appreciation for one another, involving going on dates and buying gifts for each other.
But if the gift you get for your partner isn’t up to the standard of what they want from you? Be careful of ending up like this one poor guy.
52 slaps, 0 remorse
Couples who were on their way to catch a movie on 520 day in the Sichuan province might have run into an even better drama to watch in real life on the street.
Videos have spread of a woman slapping her boyfriend non-stop and yelling at him, as the man just stood there and took it.
Watch the full fiasco here.
You okay, bro?
He was reported to have been hit 52 times, all because he didn’t get her a new smartphone as she wanted on that day.
Ouch. It was 52 slaps, but that must’ve been 520 times the pain in his heart.
Love is about enduring
Many spectators crowded around them to film the fiesta going on, while the incident had also been caught on several CCTV nearby, and the video went viral online.

In an attempt to save the man from getting slapped to death probably, the police were also alerted to the matter and attempted to calm the situation down with the couple.
But He Said…
But I don’t know if this guy’s just a fool or that he just loves his girlfriend so much, for he was still defending his girlfriend for hitting him, claiming that it was his fault in the first place for not getting her what she wanted.
He decided to take the hits because he thought it was the only way for her to be able to calm down.
Seriously?!
You must be wondering why he still puts up with abusive behaviour from his girlfriend, and that’s what I’d like to know too.
Perhaps this little fact changes everything: the police later found out that the man’s girlfriend pays for most of his expenses.
Oookay.
Pinky Promise
The couple refused to go to the police station to settle their lovers’ quarrel but had apparently promised to settle their arguments in a more civilised way the next time.
Hopefully, there won’t be a next time.
Folks, if your girlfriend or boyfriend hits you for not getting them what they want as a gift, get a gift for yourself by dumping them straight into the trash, alright?
