Four Indian Men Pick Fight with European in Thailand, Discover He’s Belgian MMA Fighter

It is common sense to not pick a fight with someone who has a way bigger stature and build than yours.

I mean, why would you risk getting beaten up?

However, it seems like common sense isn’t common anymore.

Four Indian men in Thailand picked a fight with a European man. Turns out the European man is a Belgian mixed martial arts (MMA).

The fighter successfully defended himself against four attackers in a brawl that broke out at a condominium in Pattaya, Thailand on 16 Mar 2025.

The confrontation, which was captured on video and later went viral on social media, showed the trained fighter holding his ground despite being significantly outnumbered.

Parking Dispute Escalates to Physical Confrontation

Maxim Arbille, a 22-year-old Belgian MMA fighter, and his girlfriend were driving into their condominium’s parking lot in Pattaya.

Upon arrival, they discovered a car blocking the entrance, preventing them from accessing the parking area.

According to reports from Thai news outlets including The Thaiger and Khaosod English, Arbille approached the two men who were sitting in the vehicle and requested them to move their car.

The men refused to comply with his request, which sparked a heated verbal exchange between the parties involved.

The situation deteriorated rapidly as the argument intensified. What began as a verbal disagreement soon escalated into physical violence when the two men from the car decided to confront Arbille.

The situation became even more unbalanced when two additional men joined their companions, creating a four-against-one scenario.

During the altercation, the condominium security guard attempted to intervene and stop the fight. However, the guard’s efforts proved futile as the confrontation continued to escalate.

With the situation spiralling out of control, Arbille’s girlfriend made an emergency call to the police.

Police officers arrived at the scene approximately 20 minutes after being called.

They managed to separate the fighting parties and bring the violent encounter to an end.

The incident occurred around midnight on Sunday at a condominium located in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district, in Thailand’s Chonburi province.

Fighter’s Training Proves Decisive

Despite being outnumbered four to one, Arbille was able to defend himself effectively against his attackers.

Thai news outlet Channel 8 reported that the four men who initiated the attack ended up sustaining significantly more serious injuries than Arbille himself.

“They couldn’t beat my boyfriend because he’s bigger and has boxing experience. He loves Muay Thai, so he had the advantage,” Arbille’s girlfriend explained to reporters during an interview on 19 Mar 2025.

While Arbille was identified as Belgian, reports suggested that the group of four men were of Indian origin.

Interestingly, Arbille’s girlfriend noted that the men spoke Thai with remarkable fluency, indicating they had likely been residing in Thailand for a considerable period.

Following the incident, local authorities contacted all individuals involved in the altercation.

Despite having the option to pursue legal action against his attackers, Arbille made the decision not to press charges against the men.

“He doesn’t want any problems. He travels back and forth and doesn’t want to deal with court appearances repeatedly, so he just asked for an apology and let it go,” his girlfriend told the media.

The situation was ultimately resolved at the police station, where the four men offered formal apologies to both Arbille and his girlfriend.
