As annoying as Circuit Breaker was, I did manage to finally get to do some things.
Finishing old games, reading books and spending more time with family are just a few of those.
Maybe things weren’t so bad after all.
Of course, it can still get restrictive after a while. Cabin fever hits everyone eventually.
Or, you could be Lee Chee Kin, a guy who went underwear plundering during Circuit Breaker.
Charges By The Dozens
According to CNA, the 39-year old pleaded guilty last month to 10 charges of theft, criminal trespass, unauthorised access to computer material, as well as breach of COVID-19 regulations.
But hey, it’s not over. Apparently, there are also 14 more charges taken into consideration for sentencing.
Steal Count
Things are about to get quite gross.
The former part-time actor has reportedly been stealing women’s undergarments from homes since 2018.
And this was even while he was out on bail for repeat offences.
On 12 July 2019 last year, Lee was arrested and 106 bras and 41 pairs of panties were found in his house.
He robbed one of the houses four times by climbing the back gate and took 12 bras and 12 pairs of panties worth S$1,000.
Lee even tried again on 15 April this year, only a week after Circuit Breaker was implemented.
And his response to the judge questioning him was saying that it was a ‘peculiar hobby’.
In an unrelated case, he even stole a person’s debit card and used it to spend $91.

Pleading Against Court
The Deputy Public Prosecutor recommended six months of jail for Lee, also stating that he caused neighbourhoods to have mass insecurities.
She also noted that he breached COVID-19 regulations and that he left his house for over two hours.
However, Lee’s Defence lawyer, Roche Eng, pleaded for between three and five months of jail.
Lee even addressed the judge personally, stating that this was his first time in prison.
“I really hope you will be lenient and merciful to me, as I really wish to be a better person and turn over a new leaf.”
He also mentioned that he would like to continue seeking treatment for his problems and wants to take care of his family and fiancee.
And while the District Judge did chastise Lee for trivialising his actions initially, he accepted that the accused was regretful.
Lee was sentenced to 23 weeks in jail on Monday, 8 June 2020.
For criminal trespass, Lee could have been jailed for up to three months, fined up to $500, or both. Considering how many those were…I don’t even want to think of the amount.
For theft, he could’ve been jailed for up to three years, fined or both.
Lastly, he could’ve faced up to six months’ jail, a fine of up to $10,000, or both for breaching COVID-19 regulations.
Hopefully, Lee comes out a better man after all this.
