Man ‘Can’t Walk For A Year’ After Being Slashed Until Bones Broke Outside MBS Night Club

A seemingly normal night out at one of Singapore’s hottest new club, Marquee Nightclub At Marina Bay Sands (MBS) very quickly took a turn for the worse.

What started as a night of drinks, dancing and faux blood and horror costumes at a Halloween Party at Marquee Nightclub turned into a real bloody mess, literally.

Man ‘Can’t Walk For A Year’ After Being Slashed Until Bones Broke Outside MBS Night Club

Three of the attendees were horrifically injured by an attacker who allegedly wielded a sword in the MBS carpark on 27 October 2019.

The three victims, who were all males sustained serious injuries including broken bones and deep cuts.

What’s perhaps most terrifying is that one of the man’s ear was almost entirely cut off during the slashing.

One of the three, who identified himself only as Eugene has since spoken to The Straits Times to divulge what actually transpired that fateful early morning.

Attacker Was Wearing A Doctor’s Coat

Eugene, 25, said that the three of them were part of a group of eight and were heading home at around 6am after a Halloween Party at Marquee Nightclub.

They were in the basement carpark of Marina Bay Sands when a man dressed in a “doctor’s coat” attacked them and charged at him.

Eugene thought that it was a Halloween costume and that the man was just trying to scare him. But boy, was he wrong.

He said that the weapon looked like a short sword. Unfortunately, the attacker swung the blade with so much force that he had bones broken in both legs.

Ouch.

One of his friends, named Wei, 34, then tried to protect his friend and in the process was slashed as well.

As a result, he obtained gashes on his forehead, chi and ear. One of his ears was even severed so badly that it was left “dangling” and had to be stitched back together.

“He was lying in a pool of blood, face turned purple… thankfully one of my friends, a nurse, managed to stem the bleeding.”

Eugene explained that one of his friends happened to be a nurse who helped to stop the bleeding.

Another friend who tried to video record what happened was also attacked and beaten by another alleged attacker.

What? So there was more than one attacker?

The police confirmed what had happened and were alerted to an incident at 1 Bayfront Avenue at around 6.15am.

The police said that the victims, three males between 25 and 34 were taken conscious to Singapore General Hospital.

If there’s any good news at all, here it is: Three men, aged between 22 and 24 have since been found and arrested in relation to the incident.

Victim Can’t Walk For A Year

Doctors have told Eugene that “it will be at least a year before he will be able to walk again”. Eugene had screws inserted into his left leg to join the broken bones.

He has since been discharged from the hospital.

Eugene also feels that MBS could’ve responded better to the situation during and after it happened. For starters, it took 30 minutes before a security guard came during the incident.

Police and ambulance were also delayed for 10 minutes because they couldn’t find the victims in the carpark. Eugene believes that the security could’ve helped to tell them where they were if they knew what was “happening under their noses”.

To give some credit, an MBS spokesperson has said that they were working with the police to help in the investigations.

We hope that the attackers will be brought to justice for this senseless attack.
