Man Jailed After Impersonating Ex-GF on Social Media & Stalking Her

People deal with breakups in different ways.

Some stay in bed crying for days, some go through an alarming number of ice cream tubs, while others go on right-swiping rampages on dating apps.

One man, however, took a slightly more sociopathic approach to deal with his grief.

Man Jailed After Impersonating Ex-GF on Social Media & Stalking Her

A 44-year-old Singaporean man has been jailed for five months after he pleaded guilty to unlawfully stalking his ex-girlfriend, reported TODAYonline.

Unable to accept his breakup, the man stalked her for eight months, impersonated her on social media, and even posted compromising photos of her.

In other words, he did everything you’re not supposed to do as an ex.

The victim’s ordeal started in March 2018 during a trip to Hong Kong, when she told the man she wanted to end the relationship.

They broke up, but the man clearly had trouble accepting it.

Instead of dealing with his grief, the man chose to take out his anger on his former lover.

So, from March till October in 2018, the man harassed the 31-year-old woman on various outlets, including WeChat, Instagram, and email.

This was bad enough, but then he went one step further; he set up a WeChat account to impersonate his ex.

He posted many photos of her, including one of them where they were topless in bed. He cropped it so it didn’t show her breasts.

In his accompanying captions, he would make claims that she was promiscuous, and once even said, “She loves to sleep with married men”.

He then threatened to add her friends so they would see the compromising photos and captions, and made the account username searchable.

The 44-year-old eventually took down the photos after she implored him to do so.

Threatened to Get Her Fired

While he took down the photos, he couldn’t let her go, and continued to harass her on various platforms.

Besides sending messages laden with vulgarities, the man also threatened her when he thought she was dating someone else:

“I’ll make sure u disappear… Treat me like a pest… U will regret,” he said.

He also threatened to get her fired, but fortunately for the woman, the man didn’t follow through on his threats.

And in July 2018, the man emailed the victim saying he had waited for many hours at the airport for her.

He did the same during lunch at an undisclosed location.

That is terrifying.

After doing all this, the man finally expressed regret, saying he wanted to resolve the issues between them.

That means he’s done with his sociopathic actions, right?

Nope.

Impersonated Her on Instagram

Many people stalk their ex on Instagram. It’s a little weird, but it doesn’t really hurt the ex in any way.

But for some reason, this man really wanted to hurt his ex, the person he claimed to love.

Even after expressing regret over his actions, the man set up three accounts on Instagram to impersonate the victim.

For one of the accounts, the man posted the same topless photo from before, but this time with the caption: “Want to see more? PM (private message) me at WeChat”.

The account, which was public for some time, was used to follow 600 accounts.

Using the account, the man also revealed the victim’s occupation, and even posted a photo of a contact list of her associates and colleagues.

What is wrong with this guy?

The man had to keep making new accounts as they became inaccessible for some reason. In the third account, the man shared even more compromising photos.

Even after she called to say that she had made a police report and asked him to stop, the man maintained the account and continued garnering followers out of anger, all because she had hung up after he said, “You could have prevented all these.”

He finally took down the photos the next day.

However, the damage had already been done. Her friends and colleagues told the victim they had seen the photos.

Fortunately, the man was apprehended and will be behind bars for the next five months.

For the charge of unlawful stalking, the 44-year-old could have been imprisoned for up to a year or fined up to S$5,000, or both.

Let’s hope that when he comes out, he’ll leave that poor woman alone.
