A man in China chose a dramatic exit strategy during an argument with his girlfriend by throwing himself through a glass window at a hotel.
The incident, which occurred on 16 Apr 2025 in Yuhua district, Changsha in Hunan province, was captured on surveillance cameras and has gained international attention.

Dramatic Window Escape Caught on Camera
Surveillance footage shows the couple engaged in what appears to be a heated discussion on the first floor of the hotel around 1am.

As the argument intensified, the man suddenly dropped his backpack and launched himself at the window.
His first attempt failed to break the glass, and he bounced off unscathed. Despite the woman’s efforts to prevent a second attempt, the man backed up, ran faster toward the window, and successfully crashed through it on his second try.
Additional camera footage from across the street captured the aftermath.
The man rolled on the ground outside, tried to retrieve his footwear that had fallen off during the impact, and quickly fled the scene.
Hotel Confirms Incident and Damage Payment
Hotel staff later confirmed the incident took place.
According to information shared by the Guizhou radio and television channel, the couple compensated the establishment for the damages to the broken window.
Local police indicated that the two individuals involved were indeed a couple and not strangers. They noted that the incident stemmed from an argument between them.
Law enforcement did not get involved in the situation as neither the man, the woman, nor the hotel management filed an official report about the occurrence.

Interestingly, surveillance footage showed that there was an open door just feet away from where the couple was standing, providing a much simpler exit option than the window the man chose.
