There are different levels of being disrespectful:
- Rebelling against your parents as a child going through puberty
- Being rude to those working in the service sector like waitresses, cashiers, or bus drivers.
- Deciding to go wakeboarding on a war memorial park pond
Yes, you read the last one right.
Man ‘Surfed’ on War Memorial Park Pond, Police Report Lodged
On Sunday (18 July), a video was uploaded to Facebook depicting an incident that he had witnessed the previous night.
On Saturday (17 July) night, Fang had spotted a man attempting to ‘surf’ at the War Memorial Park pond in Singapore. To be precise, he was attempting to wakeboard on the memorial pond.
Now just look at this guy’s audacity, disrespecting the dead however he pleases. Seriously, what is wrong with people these days?
At the start of the video, the man can be seen standing at the edge of the pond as he puts on his wakeboarding gear. At one point, he seemingly glances right at the camera and notices it, but pays it no mind as he continues getting into the pond.
He can then be seen wakeboarding from one end of the pond to the other by pulling on a rope attached to the other end of the pond. In the middle of his wakeboarding, the man can even be seen doing a trick in the video—he jumps and hits the memorial wall with his wakeboard, before landing back into the pool and continuing to the end.
Does this count as vandalism?
Speaking to Mothership, Fang had allegedly told them that the man had attempted to wakeboard in the pool a total of four times in the span of 20 minutes. He reportedly fell into the water in one of his attempts.
Fang also said that the man had been accompanied by another woman, most probably the woman seen in the background towards the end of the video. Fang added that there were other people sitting around the area who had witnessed the incident, but none had approached the man to stop him.
In the captions, Fang wrote: “Saw this Ang Moh doing some surfboarding thing at the War Memorial Park multiple times as if it was his own private pool wtf….”
“I made a police report via SPF E-services already so will see what happens,” he continued in the captions.
According to Mothership, the police has confirmed that a report has been made and that it is currently “looking into the matter.”
