JB Man Allegedly Went to 2 Wedding Dinners to Eat & Drink for Free

Uninvited Guest Busted for Crashing Not One, But Two Wedding Banquets in Johor Bahru

Dear future brides, as you navigate the emotional rollercoaster of finding your “perfect” dress and appeasing your nosy relatives, there’s yet another concern to add to your list: wedding gatecrashers.

On 11 November, a man who posed as a guest, was caught red-handed attempting to partake in the feasts of not one, but two wedding banquets in Johor Bahru.

Yes, you read that correctly… two wedding banquets.

The man seemed to be in his 50s, with thinning hair and a slight paunch. The wedding emcee, Fat Cat (totally not related to any blue cat), told the China Press that the man’s impeccable attire rendered him inconspicuous as he gave his well-wishes to the newly-weds upon his arrival.

The man proceeded to approach the singers near the stage where he boldly claimed that he could sing and brazenly requested employment.

He must be unaware that he, at the very least, needs a cover letter, resume, portfolio, recommendations, and testimonials to even be considered for an interview, let alone a job.

After being declined, he settled at a table, claiming that he was invited by the bride’s family. Fat Cat revealed that the bride’s family have not met this man before. A quick verification with the groom’s family confirmed he was uninvited and he was politely asked to leave.

But that’s not all.

Rather than exiting the venue, he sneaked into a neighbouring banquet hall to continue his feast. His ruse was eventually spotted by a vigilant staff member, and once again, he was ushered off the property.

Similar Incidents

Surprisingly, this scenario is not uncommon.

Recently, Malaysian singer Jacqueline Ng shared on Facebook her wedding in Penang was disrupted by nearly 10 gatecrashers.

Her efforts of planning the seating arrangement were in vain as the strangers who posed as guests sat on several vacant chairs causing confusion amongst her guests. This inevitably led to rearrangements for the genuine guests who arrived subsequently.
