Unlike when playing GTA, running away from the police is not a great idea.

Firstly, unless you’re Usain Bolt, your chances of outrunning these trained men and women are slim.

And even if you do manage to escape, they will likely be able to identify you later on, and apprehend you.

Despite this, two individuals not only ignored a traffic police (TP) officer when asked to stop in their vehicle, but also ran away from officers after they crashed.

Police Looking for 2 Suspects After Dramatic Arrest in Toa Payoh

The police have launched a nationwide manhunt for two men who are wanted for drug-related offences.

The two men were involved in a road accident in Toa Payoh that injured a pedestrian on Friday night (12 Feb).

A 32-year-old woman, who was with them at the time, wasn’t as lucky and was arrested for drug-related offences.

So, what happened?

At about 11.55pm on Friday night, TP officers had spotted a vehicle speeding along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) towards Changi Airport, before the Toa Payoh exit.

The officers signalled for the driver to stop, but he allegedly sped off towards Lorong 2 Toa Payoh.

Big, big mistake.

Then, he allegedly hit a 25-year-old woman who was walking across a pedestrian crossing on Lorong 1 Toa Payoh.

The 35-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle and slammed into the road divider railings.

At this point, the driver and passengers in the car had two options:
  1. Give themselves up to the police
  2. Keep running for the rest of their lives like they’re starring in their own season of Prison Break

Surprise, surprise, they chose the latter.

A video of three suspects fleeing the crashed car made its way to the internet and was shared by the Facebook page SG Road Vigilante.

One officer manages to tackle one of the male suspects, but then leaves him to chase the other one.

In the end, the two men escaped, and officers only managed to arrest the woman passenger there for suspected drug-related offences.

She was conscious when taken to hospital.

The car, believed to be a Black Volkswagen Golf, was badly damaged after crashing into the road divider.

The police said they have identified the driver and his 28-year-old male passenger and an operation to arrest them is underway.

Investigations are ongoing.

This isn’t going to end well for them.
