Yet again, another company jumps onto the “scoop cash” bandwagon. Previously, it was House of Seafood’s CEO Francis Ng letting his staff get some extra angbao money.
This time, it’s Mark Lee and his company King Kong Media Production. Thankfully, he didn’t take credit for creating the game.
King Kong’s Chiou Huey Plays Game
If you have been living under a rock, the “scooping cash” game is basically what its name says. A blindfolded person, armed with a spatula, tries to scoop up as much cash as possible from a table covered in notes, all within a specified time.
On Monday, Ee Chiou Huey, a YouTuber and actress signed with King Kong Media Production, uploaded a video to her Instagram account that shows her trying valiantly to scoop some money into a box.

A rough calculation shows at least $1,000 on the table in denominations of $10, $50 and $100.
Voices could be heard teasing her in Mandarin, with one saying “save some for me leh”. Others repeatedly exclaimed to make her think she had scooped up many notes. Super funny lah.
Mark Lee then appears on screen to shift the notes to the centre of the table.
When 15 seconds were left, Ee remarked exasperatedly that the game was difficult and Lee prepared to throw $10 into her box.
However, as luck would have it, right at the last moment, Ee managed to successfully scoop up a $100 note. Huat ah!

Victory Uploads on Instagram Stories
In an upload to her Instagram Stories, Ee wrote, “This is the lucky ah pek (uncle) I scooped up! Probably never gonna use it. Gonna go frame it up!”
She added, “Honestly didn’t expect to scoop up anything at all because it’s almost impossible. I thought the $100 was put into my box by my boss.
“Only after this video did I realise that, ‘Hey! I have a little luck too!’ By the way, my manager won $690 from the same game.” We would sure like to as well.
In an Instagram Stories upload today, Ee remarked that Lee was “really very sweet” for trying to put $10 in her box so that she “wouldn’t get nothing”. She also said her colleagues were “super encouraging” before promoting the game to her followers.
Well, you’ve heard it. The game sure isn’t as easy as it looks. Chinese New Year technically isn’t over yet, so maybe try your luck with your family or friends and hope for a big Huat ah!
