McDonald’s Coming Out With Rendang Beef Burger That’s Not Crispy

McDonald’s is on a roll.

Okay, scrap that, I hope they’re not on a roll. Because, well, their recent burgers haven’t exactly been awe-inspiring.

Like their Ha Cheong Gai Chicken Burger which honestly tasted like Zinger.

And their Curry Burger isn’t any better.

Let’s just say that McDonald’s been on a bad streak as far as their new items are concerned.

But now, McDonald’s Singapore is challenging local Singapore flavours again, and because I love McDonald’s, I really hope it’s good.

And this time, it might just be a winner.

After all, McDonald’s never had a track record of screwing up their beef patties. I mean, the double quarter pounder, when they launched it, was so successful that even after it’s taken off the menu, people are still asking for it.

Imagine sinking your teeth into moist, 100% Angus beef dipped in generous rendang sauce and topped off with crunchy caramelised onions and their signature egg.

That’s what you’re going to get with this burger.

The rendang sauce is made from coconut milk, ginger, kaffir lime, lemongrass, onion, garlic and spices. And it’s guaranteed to bring you back to your childhood days.

The burger, which soft-launches today, will be available at all Singapore stores after breakfast hours, McDelivery and Grab Food.

So if you’re curious about how it’ll taste, make sure to get it fast because it’s a limited time item.

And you all know how McDonald’s food has a pesky habit of running out.

And for $10.90, you can get the Rendang Sedap Feast which includes the burger, a medium Criss Cut Fries, a small coke and a D24 Durian McFlurry.

Look on the bright side, if the burger sucks, at least you’d know that the Criss Cut fries and the D24 Durian McFlurry don’t. #JustSaying

Burger King Rendang Burger Has A Competitor Now

Since we’re on the topic of rendang burgers, did you know that Burger King already has a version of their own? And they’ve had it since long ago.

And let me tell you, that burger is good.

“The Tendergrill Rendang Chicken Burger looked a whole lot better than the Hainanese Chicken Burger. Taste-wise, we dare say that the burst of flavours that came with each bite of the Rendang burger surpassed that of the Hainanese Chicken Burger as well.”

“The Rendang sauce used in the burger might not be a true representation of the original Rendang sauce we find at most Malay stalls because it is not thick nor spicy, but we gotta admit that the flavour profile is still equally strong – if not better.”

“Our verdict? The Tendergrill Rendang Burger is definitely a must-order.”

And the best part?

The Double Beef Rendang Burger is going for only $5.30 from 1-10 Aug.
