Mediacorp’s talent management The Celebrity Agency (TCA) has just formed a new female group of artists from its latest generation.
Readers: Since when did Mediacorp talent-hunt for teenagers, put them through rigorous and bone-breaking training for a few years and then debut them as a group like South Korea?
No, Mediacorp didn’t do any of that.
Similar to the Seven Princesses of Mediacorp or the Eight Dukes of Caldecott Hill, titles given to promising Mediacorp female and male artistes respectively, the formation of the new Female Group follows a similar trend.
Named 4567
Unlike the almost aristocratic and high-born feeling that the previous two titles present, the new Female Group is named 4567, which is loosely tied to their Chinese names.
(Note: the numbers pronounced in Chinese are Si, Wu, Liu, Qi.)
They include Sin Nee, Hu Yu Shi, Liu Yue, Xiao Qing.
According to Mediacorp, the four members had a “natural chemistry” between them and formed a “strong friendship” over the past few years.
The official grouping will allow them to explore collaborative opportunities, like variety shows, public performances, campaigns, and online creative engagements.
It seems like they won’t be putting out albums with dazzling outfits and coordinated dance choreography after all.
Let’s introduce the members of 4567, in order, shall we?

Seow Sin Nee was born in Malaysia and graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree before she decided on a career in the entertainment industry.
She competed in the DJ Hunt Competition “The Sound Makers” in 2019, and was simultaneously featured on a variety show called “Beyond the Camera”, where she won the hearts of many with her exuberant character and quick wits, thus coming out as the Champion.
The 27-year-old artist officially debuted as an outdoor host in The Sheng Siong Show and made appearances in the recent Just Swipe Lah.
Besides radio and show hosting, Seow has also branched out into acting. The upcoming drama that she will be starring in, called The Unbreakable Bond, will be releasing in May 2022.

Similar to Ms Oh, Juin Teh was also one of the Top 12 Finalists in the 2019 Star Search.
Even before her debut, the Malaysian 30-year-old artist has hosted a number of events, such as ONFM Travelling Program in 2015, the R&F Princess Cove Singing Competition in 2017, and the Grand Opening of Permaisuri Zairth Sofiah Opera Johor.
Most recently, she was one of the hosts for the 2021 Star Awards Backstage Live.
Ms Teh definitely has many encounters with her fellow members, since she was part of the cast of All Around You as well, and she is one of the hosts for Just Swipe Lah.
7: Gini Chang (曾晓晴 Zeng Xiao Qing)

Born and raised in Macau, China, Gini Chang graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Master’s Degree in Education, and is trilingual in Mandarin, Chinese, and Cantonese.
Similar to her peers, the 25-year-old artist was one of the Top 12 Finalists in the 2019 Star Search and acted in All Around You.
Her recent hosting works have brought her to River Hongbao 2022, Silver Carnival, and Just Swipe Lah.
Ms Chang has proven to be musically talented too, since she can sing and play the piano as well.
From their filmography and general beginnings, it’s quite evident that they will be branching more towards acting and variety show hosting.
As for what the future holds for 4567, and what TCA intends to mould them into, only time will tell, like the gradual uptick of numbers.
