Mercs Nearly Hit Deliveryman While Squeezing Through Tight Spot; Scratched Truck Instead

Mercedes may undoubtedly be a reputable brand on the road…

But that does not exactly give Mercedes drivers a license to go ‘bumper car’ mode.

“Who would do such a thing?” Passerby A wonders like a thinking toad.

Well, this piece of incriminating evidence will now be showed.

Mercs Nearly Hit Deliveryman While Squeezing Though Tight Spot; Scratched Truck Instead

Two days ago, Facebook user Muhammad Hisyam posted a 0:20 video clip on the social media platform, alongside the foreboding caption:

“LTA please do something about this. Our lives are in danger with this type of driver on the road. Doesnt mean he drive mercedes he can do what ever he wants.”

He went on to detail the number plate of the offending vehicle – a notion that suggests that something terrible has been committed.

But what is it, exactly? Well, here’s how it goes.

The video starts off harmless enough. A man could be seen standing at the rear of a truck, at what appears to be the loading bay of IKEA Tampines.

From the looks of it, the truck seems to have obstructed the road, as two vehicles – a dark-coloured Mercedes and another white car – appear to be blocked off.

However, while the white car (also a Mercs) was content with waiting, the driver of the Mercedes decided to take the initiative…

By steering right into the path of the man.

At this point, the man puts up his hand, presumably to signal for the Mercedes to pause. And the vehicle consented.

For the briefest of moments.

The next moment, the driver proceeds to move forward, despite a particular human being still nestled at the rear of the truck.

The vehicle even began to clear the gap, by steering left.

Now, this might have been a viable option had there not been an actual person trapped in between. But the fact remains that that was not the case.

Thankfully, the man was able to channel his inner Neo, as he deftly dodged the incoming vehicle with all the grace of the Chosen One.

To some, it may be remniscent of the Limbo Dance. But to professionals, it was nothing short of an expert maneuver that involved all 206 bones.

Anyways, danger averted, he proceeded to do what any of us would have probably done:

Stare at the driver in utter disbelief.

But the worst has yet to occur.

Fractions of a second later, the car would come into contact with the corner of the truck…

Leaving a blatant scratch on the truck’s left side.

At this point, we can only wonder what the driver was thinking.

Parked There

Suffice to say; Netizens were not pleased.

Some reprimanded the driver of the Mercedes for driving recklessly, while others called for the involvement of the authorities.

However, it should be noted that several also wondered why the lorry was parked there in the first place, and whether it was an instance of “anyhow parking”.

Subsequently, a Facebook user who identified herself as the man’s wife stepped out and explained the whole scenario.

According to her, her husband was trying to close the back door of the lorry. Had the driver waited for just a few more seconds, he would’ve been able to close the door and park the vehicle properly.

She also alleged that there was enough space for the driver to go straight, but the driver chose to go with the less-reasonable route.

Apparently, a police report has since been lodged.

“Nonetheless,” she said. “A police report has already been made regarding this incident. Thankfully nothing happened to my husband.”

In a further update, it was revealed that her husband was seeking compensation for damage caused to the lorry.

Deja Vu

It appears that Mercedes vehicles and trucks may share a closer relationship than previously thought.

Just last month, a white Mercedes found itself rammed by a towering truck, after the former tried to squeeze into the latter’s lane.

From the looks of it, the driver of the truck had failed to spot the filtering Mercedes.

Well, it certainly seems like the Mercedes brand has taken ‘revenge’.

Though whether it’s called for is, quite honestly, another question altogether.
