Guys.
Reader Bao: I’m so worried about the 728 cases reported yesterday.
Guys…
Reader Ban: I know right, and every single day, there are new measures coming out. I can’t catch up with the Galaxy phones liao and new products come out every few months

Now, it might not seem like much of a present but let me tell you, this URL here is possibly the best present you can get during the CB period.
I mean, it’s worth $300, or possibly more, depending on how many measures you can avoid breaching, plus it helps to clarify things on “grey areas” that’s been happening in Singapore.
This Happened Yesterday
A smoker filmed his encounter with an LTA enforcement officer who approached him because he didn’t wear his mask while he was smoking.
Frustrated, he lashed out, asking how he was supposed to smoke if he had the mask on.
The enforcement officer attempted to nicely explain things to the smoker but was verbally abused in return.
You can watch the video of the encounter below:
Disregarding how rude the smoker was, he asked a really important question: can smokers smoke outside during the CB period?
Is this a “so-called” grey area of the new measures?
Turns out, you actually can.
MOH Website States One Can Smoke in Public But Must Put Mask Back On Immediately
On their FAQ section, question 13 answers the burning question (geddit?) that all smokers have.
MOH states that all designated smoking areas (DSA) in Orchard and beyond have been closed.
If you live near Jurong Point, you’d notice that the enclosed smoking area has been closed for some time.
You can still smoke at areas that don’t prohibit smoking when you’re out on essential business. In other words, no void decks, parks, near playgrounds, under shelter, etc.
You can take off your mask while smoking but have to immediately put it back on after you’re done, just like when you drink or clean your face when you’re outside.
Safe distancing measures must also be observed so don’t be like the BBT fellow and talk with your fellow smoker while standing close together.
Of course, don’t loiter around the area too.
Don’t Abuse Our Poor Enforcement Officers, Please
You’re frustrated, I get it. Guess what? They are too. They didn’t sign up to restrict Singaporeans from doing the things they like and yet they’re treated as though they’re the bane of all Singaporeans.
The authorities have also promised to protect their officers and ambassadors and promised that if anyone were to shoot the messenger (officers and ambassadors), they’ll shoot you (figuratively, of course).
