Monsters come in all forms—it could be your “best friend”, colleague or even your family members.
But it can be emotionally excruciating if you were abused by your family and it is definitely a tough one to recover from.
Unfortunately, a boy was sexually abused by his 63-year-old grandfather.
What happened
The said boy was between seven and eight years old when the abuse began, betwixt 2015 and 2016, The Straits Times reported.
The first incident transpire in early 2015 when the grandfather called the boy to his room to fondle him.
The grandfather started to panic when the family’s domestic worker called out for the boy.
He, then, told the boy to get dressed and warned him not to tell anyone as it would “create problems” with his parents.
The boy was at peace for a bit as his grandad was sent to a drug rehabilitation centre in that year, December.
But his peace was shortlived as he returned back home in September 2016
On 28 Sep, he sexually abused the boy again and warned the boy to not tell anyone.
But the situation soon came to light one day.
On Oct 22, the boy confided to his mother when he was told to go to bed early or he will have to stay at home alone with her father aka the perp.
She, then, confronted her father and made a police report shortly.
The grandfather pleaded guilty
On 22 Feb, he pleaded guilty to one charge of molestation and one charge of aggravated sexual assault by penetration.
The High Court will take into account three other charges during sentencing, one for molestation and two for showing a pornographic video.
The case has been adjourned to April 4 for mitigation and sentencing arguments, The Straits Times reported.
Let’s just hope he gets what he deserves.
