Amidst all the chaos and panic brought about by the coronavirus outbreak, some people have successfully proven that it is still possible to make the best of an unfortunate situation.
Lest you’re unaware, our neighbouring country, Malaysia, has been the worst-hit Southeast Asian country so far and they have enforced a number of restrictions to prevent the virus from spreading further.
This is a part of the Movement Control Order (MCO), which is basically a partial lockdown of the country.

The lockdown even prevents weddings and funerals from being held, as they are social gatherings that will draw large crowds of people to an area.
Well, luckily for this particular couple, they were able to go through with their creative Covid-19-friendly wedding two days before the lockdown began.
Drive-Through Wedding Ceremony
In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, a couple in Malaysia came up with a unique way to proceed with their wedding while ensuring the maximum safety of their guests.
Since large, social gatherings were discouraged, they decided to organise a ‘Drive-Through‘ wedding, in which guests remained in their cars at all times.
Basically, guests would drive up to the newlywed couple, have a conversation with them through their car windows, and then drive off.
It was short and sweet.
The couple also placed a donation box near the drive-thru area for guests to drop off their contributions.
Pictures of the wedding were posted to Facebook by the wedding organiser.

No Physical Contact
Another measure that they took was to practice an altered version of the hand signal that most people use to greet one another.
Instead of shaking hands, they placed one hand on their chest as a sign of respect, and greeted each other that way, as advised by The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM).
With all these measures in place, the couple successfully ensured that there was no physical contact between anyone at their wedding.
Food was packed into takeaway packets and given to the guests in their cars.
Weddings Not Allowed In Malaysia For The Time Being
However, this wedding happened two days ago. During the partial lockdown, no one in Malaysia is supposed to organise a public wedding event.

It is punishable by law to disobey the orders given by the government during the lockdown period, according to the Provisions in Section 11(4) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 and Section 24(2) of the same Act.
But hey, if there’s a will, there’s a way.
Like having a live-stream wedding where all your guests can watch you get married from the comfort of their own homes.
Or, you could just wait for two more weeks and have a cute drive-thru wedding like this one.
