Earlier this week, a 43-year-old Malaysian rider passed away after allegedly losing control of his motorcycle on the PIE.
The deceased’s brother is currently appealing for those with dashcam footage of the accident to come forward.
43-Year-Old Malaysian Rider Who Died in PIE Accident Left 2 Kids Behind
On Thursday (24 October), around 4:50 am, a 43-year-old Malaysian rider died after allegedly losing control of his motorcycle while riding along the PIE towards Changi Airport.
The deceased, Huang Wenbin (hanyu pinyin), was originally from Kedah, Malaysia. He had been working in Singapore for nearly half a decade as a salesperson at a beverage company.
He was on his way to work when the accident occurred.
Unfortunately, following the accident, he passed away on the scene after suffering severe head trauma. According to 8world, he leaves two kids behind — one aged six and the other aged 18.
Deceased Was a Good Father, Good Sibiling, and a Filial Son
The deceased’s 34-year-old brother, Huang Wenjie (hanyu pinyin), told 8world that the deceased was a good father and had treated his two kids very well.
However, that was not all — the deceased, being the eldest of four siblings, was also a good sibling and a filial son.
After the deceased’s father passed away from a stroke five or six years ago, the deceased took on the role of the head of the family. He would frequently send money home to his family after receiving his salary.
The deceased’s 63-year-old mother, who resides in Kedah, Malaysia, was devastated to hear of the deceased’s accident.
Yet, what’s far more heartbreaking was that the deceased had just celebrated his birthday earlier this month on 2 October. He had made a birthday wish to take good care of his mother and two kids.
Deceased’s Family Appealing for Accident Footage; Claims that Deceased Has Over 10 Years of Riding Experience
The deceased’s 34-year-old brother has since collected the deceased’s belongings from the police station and claimed the deceased’s body from the mortuary. The deceased’s body has also been returned to his hometown in Kedah.
Yet, one thing continues to bug the 34-year-old — the deceased was an experienced motorcyclist with over ten years of riding experience, and could even drive a car.
The deceased’s brother thus finds it hard to believe that the accident was caused by the deceased losing control of the motorcycle.
As such, the deceased’s brother is now appealing for any witnesses with dashcam footage of the accident to come forward with the footage. Currently, it appears that the only dashcam footage circulating online is post-accident footage after police had already arrived on the scene.
“We just want the truth about how my brother died; otherwise, it will be hard for us to find closure,” the deceased’s brother added.
The deceased’s funeral is scheduled for Monday (28 October) morning.
