If you’ve been to a drag show before, you’ll know that the atmosphere is pretty fun and lively.
Some other things, on the other hand, are… less fun and lively.
Like getting arrested because of your questionable fashion decisions.
Malaysian YouTubers Arrested for Cross-Dressing
It was announced by the Johor police that on February 18, two Malaysian YouTubers, Bryan Wee and Deacon Chai, were arrested for cross-dressing and taking lewd photos in front of the royal palace in Johor, also known as Laman Mahkota Istana Bukit Serene.
Wee posted the photos on his Facebook page but has since taken the post down after much backlash and criticism.
Lest you’re not aware, Wee is known in Malaysia for his content that involves him dressing in revealing, often feminine clothes. And although his dressing this time around was similar to how he usually dresses, many Malaysians took offence to it due to the background of his photos.
Many felt that the YouTubers were disrespecting Malaysian royalty, and called for their arrest while tagging the official Facebook accounts related to the royal palace in Johor.
In the above video, it can be seen that the two men were parading around in their skimpy outfits while announcing to the camera that they were in Johor.
Evidently, not the best way to announce your arrival.
The duo was dressed in outfits that exposed their underwear, and they even struck seductive poses in front of the camera.
Er… Let’s just say that they’re poses that your elderly relatives won’t approve of. Let’s just leave it at that.
The Charges
According to Johor police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mama, investigations are currently going on under Section 505 (b) of the Penal Code for statements conducing to public mischief and threatening the harmony of the country, as well as Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for the improper use of network facilities or services.
For the former, Wee and Chai are facing up to two years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both. For the latter, they are facing up to one years’ imprisonment, a fine not exceeding RM 50,000, or both.

Apart from their indecent actions, Kamarul Zaman also added that both Wee and Chai tested positive for ketamine after being arrested, and will therefore be investigated under Section 15 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
I’m pretty sure Lady Gaga didn’t mean this life track when she sang “I’m on the right track, baby, I was born to be brave” in Born This Way.
Both are to be remanded as well.
He concluded by emphasising, “We urge the public to use the social media platform wisely and we will not compromise with any individual who purposely threatens public safety and order.”
