M’sian Woman Squeezes Children Into A Car
A video was uploaded on Facebook on 22 October, where some 10 or more children wearing school uniform in Puchong, Malaysia, were seen squeezing into a regular hatchback by a woman.
Yes, there’s no typo: regular hatchback, not a mini bus.
Based on the video, the Malaysian Woman was seen adjusting the position of two primary school children in the boot of the car that was filled with school bags.
While the children in the boot of the car appeared to have trouble making space, some seven more children exited the car from the front and rear doors.
Around five of them began to walk down the road with their bags while the remaining children climbed around the car boot.

There seem to be more children in the back seat of the car, but it is not confirmed how many children there were.
Outrage Among Netizens
The video had garnered over 23,000 shares and at the same time sparked concern and outrage among Malaysian netizens.
Many slammed the woman for child endangerment.
But what exactly happened?
According to Oriental Daily News, the head of SJKC Kheng Chee Puchong’s parents’ association, Li Weihong, confirmed that the primary school students in the video were from the school.

The woman was said to be a childcare provider, tasked with picking up the children after school.
The parents’ association has offered to intervene to help with the transportation of the children. However, as this incident took place after school hours, it is a matter outside of the school’s jurisdiction.
The parents of the children in the video have since lodged complaints with the childcare provider after being contacted by the parents’ association.
According to AsiaOne, Li stated that the students did not know how dangerous the situation was, and even found it fun, laughing and playing as they climbed into the car boot.
Hence, steps have also been taken to counsel the children involved. They will be educated on the importance of traffic safety, traffic rules and how to respond to situations like this.
