Multiple Footage Show Car Moving Against Traffic on SLE

It’s hard driving a car.

You got to be sure not to hit a jaywalker. Or a PMD rider on the expressway.

Or drive towards a car speeding towards you.

Now, granted, the third one’s harder to do because who would drive against traffic in Singapore?

Well…

And now, on 31 May 2019, another dude has joined the crowd.

Facebook Video Surfaces

A video was uploaded onto the popular Facebook page, SG Road Vigilante, recently.

And unlike their usual style, their footage this time consists of not one, not three but two footage from different vehicles.

On the same perp.

The incident allegedly took place on 31 May 2019 between 12.30 to 2 am along the Seletar Expressway (SLE)

Unfortunately, the footage was grainy as the dash cams that the footage came from performed pretty poorly in low light condition.

Netizens’ Reactions

So, seeing as how this isn’t the first time you read about an incident like this online, you’d wonder what the netizens are thinking.

Here are a couple of opinions.

There are some who thinks the driver is drunk. Others decide to give him the benefit of the doubt and reckoned he made a wrong turn.

But whichever it is, just take note that going against traffic is a pretty big crime in Singapore.

Here Are The Consequences:

According to the Road Traffic Act, going against the traffic will result in 6 demerit points. That’s if everything’s alright and the only injury people suffer is an almost-heart-attack.

But if lives were to be lost?

Well, you can be charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder like this guy.

Double’s The Word

Plus, with the latest update to the Road Traffic Act, you don’t want to be an asshole driver.

Not only is the TP concerned about you hitting a beloved chihuahua, but penalties for reckless driving are also (more or less) doubled across the board.

The Road Traffic Act version 2.01 also makes it easier for reckless and irresponsible drivers to get banned from driving.

If the TP deemed that you’re a reckless or irresponsible driver? You immediately get 24 demerit points, which is like bye-bye-license.

So unless you’re not working a job which requires you to drive, or you just don’t want to take BMW (Bus-MRT-Walk) like the rest of the mortals, just drive responsibly.

For our awesomely-informational article on the changes to the Road Traffic Act, here’s a sixty-second-version of it.
