Nails Mama suddenly closed its outlet at Heartland Mall, initially telling customers that they can continue to use their packages in a Serangoon outlet.
However, they ended up ghosting customers who tried booking appointments, and then closed all outlets completely.
An incident like this happened just two months ago with another manicure shop, which made us wonder if this salon chain decided to copy their method of disappearance.
Can Use Outstanding Credits in Another Outlet
Diana, a user of STOMP, shared that she bought a manicure package from Nails Mama with an outstanding balance of $342.20.
She last visited them in January, but has been facing difficulties booking a manicure slot since March. According to Diana, this “rarely happen[ed] in the last few years when [she] patronised them”.
On 4 August, Nails Mama suddenly informed her through WhatsApp that they will be closing their outlet at Heartland Mall on 28 August. They stated that customers can use their outstanding credits at their Serangoon North Ave 1 outlet.
Ghosted Customers on Messaging Platforms, Social Media
Diana then tried replying to their WhatsApp message, calling their numbers for both outlets, and even tried contacting them through Facebook Messenger and Instagram.
However, nobody picked up the calls or responded to the messages. A few days later, Nails Mama’s Facebook page became unavailable.
According to recent reviews on Nails Mama’s Google page, both the Heartland Mall and Serangoon outlets are shut. Many customers have been leaving one-star reviews on their page, all saying that the shop ghosted them despite having package balances in the hundreds.

When we searched up Nails Mama on the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA)’s website, their company status is still displayed as ‘Live’.
This means that the company is still in operation, and isn’t formally closed.
A similar incident happened in June, where Bling Bling Nails also suddenly closed all outlets and ghosted customers. The total value of the remaining package credits amounted to over $40,000 across 50 people.
Moral of the story? Maybe don’t buy manicure packages, even if they’re from well-trusted shops.
