Nasi Padang Seller Cried Uncontrollably While Doing Live Video & Netizens Rushed Over to Support Her Immediately

Amidst these tumultuous times, several sectors have seen a rapid decline in fortunes.

The aviation industry, for one, has been hit ludicrously hard by the pandemic.

And the same can be said for the F&B industry.

Nasi Padang Seller Cried Uncontrollably While Doing Live Video

Though the fortunes of food retailers seemed to be picking up, with the nation’s steady progression in recent times, things appear to be back in square one with the Heightened Alert status.

With the removal of dine-in options and only takeaway and delivery available, F&B businesses are once again facing a distinct decline in customers…

And incline in the waste of food.

And it’s a testimony that is regrettably shared by a Nasi Padang seller, who was visibly affected by the development.

In a live video shot by Singaporean entertainer Roslan Shah, Ani, a Nasi Padang hawker, could be seen despairing over the situation.

In the video, she described how sales have been poor since the announcement of Phase 2 (Heightened Alert).

Even though it was dinner time, a significant percentage of her dishes were left untouched.

For the record, the hawker dabbles in amazing-looking beef rendang and sayur lodeh, as well as ayam goreng.

Because of the poor performance in sales, she stated that she had actually contemplated quitting: a notion that has already befallen numerous F&B businesses.

Netizens Rushed Over to Support Her Immediately

At some point in the video, orders began pouring in, which prompted Ani to express her gratitude.

And they only grew as bulk orders joined the fray, with some not even for personal consumption.

For instance, one customer expressed that he had wanted to donate 10 packets of food to those who got rojak from Roslan.

And it wasn’t just monetary help either. Several volunteered their own services, with one even offering to be Ani’s food delivery person.

The live video managed to garner a whopping 21K views.

Though Netizens may be needlessly cold and harsh at times, it appears that they are also more than capable of kindness and compassion in the right scenarios.

What a heartening sight to behold.
