Schneider Electric & EDB Reveal New S’pore-Based Company That Could Create 100 Jobs Locally

On Tuesday (13 Apr), a European multinational company, Schneider Electric, along with Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB), revealed a new company with its headquarters in Singapore. 

This is a new enterprise that could lead to the creation of around 100 new jobs in Singapore

The company, NaviX Solutions, is a joint venture by Schneider Electric and EDB New Ventures. Both Schneider Electric and EDB will co-invest in the company and provide support for the enterprise.

NaviX Solutions will help corporations manage and use critical power assets without requiring them to come up with capital for the tools. 

These assets will be launched in stages. 

According to NaviX Solutions chief executive Simon Claringbold, NaviX Solutions will lead to the creation of new jobs in a variety of sectors including customer service, technical support, finance, human resources and logistics, and more. 

Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Heng Swee Keat visited the headquarters in Kallang on Tuesday (13 Apr). He got to take a look at some of the company’s innovations which included a unified digital platform that could provide customers with synchronous and prognostic analytics. 

According to Mr Choo Heng Tong, EDB’s executive vice-president of new ventures and innovation, NaviX Solutions has the advantage of “a strong entrepreneurial founding team that can drive growth with autonomy and agility, and at the same time, leverage the deep competitive advantages of Schneider Electric in energy management, customer networks and global scale”. 

He adds that he is confident that this will give the company “a strong edge in the market”. 

Mr Emmanuel Lagarrigue, Schneider Electric’s chief innovation officer, commented, “The venture creation programme we have built together with EDB is a great example of how corporations and governments can work together to create jobs, develop world-changing innovation, and build back better.” 

Dyson to Hire Over 200 Engineers and Scientists in Singapore Over Next 5 Years

On the topic of job creation, tech company Dyson is looking to employ 250 engineers and scientists in Singapore over the next five years.

Dyson’s global headquarters reside in Singapore and is a hub for engineering teams and various operations. 

Currently, around 1,400 Dyson employees work in Singapore, and nearly half of them are engineers and scientists. 

The company will soon be moving to St James Power Station located at Sentosa Gateway, while the Singapore Technology Centre at Science Park 1 will still be retained.
