Neighbour Gave Free Masks & People Think He/She is Trying to Sell Insurance Policy

Lest you’ve been living under a cave, you would surely be aware of the crisis the globe’s forced to face right now: my aunt Matilda’s wrath.

Indeed, hell hath no fury like a woman ill, as my aunt Matilda seems intent on coughing and sneezing everywhere she goes as the world entertains a slightly less vicious threat in the form of the Wuhan Virus. “I love sneezing at people with masks,” she chortles. “Scares the shit out of them. And I absolutely dig coughing at insurance agents. That will teach them to introduce policies to me again.”

Yeah, my aunt Matilda sure is a brilliant woman alright.

Yet, even at this time of crisis, good-hearted people still exist. And I’m not just talking about the Carousell users who advertise free masks on the buy-sell platform; I’m talking about people who volunteer to distribute free masks to helpless neighbours…

Damn, what an act of kindness.

Indeed, such a helpful disposition is few and far between in this age of society, and I’ve to applaud this citizen on their actions as we prepare to enter a new act of this Coronavirus saga-

Aunt Matilda: I cough at this person.

Aunt Matilda! How could you do that to them? They’re so kind!

Aunt Matilda: I pui. See that second paragraph of their notice?

Aunt Matilda: Confirm insurance agent one.

Neighbour Gave Free Masks & People Think He / She is Trying to Sell Insurance Policy

Just two days ago (1 Feb 2020), Reddit user Lazerite uploaded a heart-warming post to the social news site, complete with apparel and dual languages imprinted on paper.

Lest you can’t read, here’s a rough transcript:

“Dear Neighbours and Friends,

“This is a little pack of mask I have prepared for you in this heightened health concern of the virus outbreak. Please take care of your health and your family’s. Hope this little pack will help for your family.

“As in my line of work, staying prepared is a key and our value of abundance is always what we believed in.

“Cheers!

“Your friendly neighbour @”

Lest you TLDR, here’s a rough breakdown of what happened:

  • A mysterious benefactor gifted the poster a pack of mask
  • They wish the poster all the best
  • The message is then concluded with 22 words that strike a real chord in the heart

Reception

Suffice it to say; the mysterious benefactor’s actions have effectively won over the Internet: the post has since collected 2K up-votes, and is still going strong.

Netizens were also appreciative of the person’s actions, airing positive comments in tandem.

But like everything else, there’ll always be that one Aunt Matilda.

Unlike my Aunt Matilda, however, the ‘cynic’ was soon rebuffed.

Which seems to insinuate the following consensus:

Insurance agent or not, the act itself is deserving of accolades.

And I couldn’t agree more.

Humanity Thrives In The Face Of Adversity

Ever since the Wuhan Coronavirus broke out, humanity has seen its fair share of ups and downs: mask hoarders profiteering via the misery of their less-equipped peers, travel bans that’re directed non-too-subtly at a specific nation, my Aunt Matilda who basks in the fear of the nation.

And yet, at the same time, the nation has also seen several positive phenomenons occur: the uprising of Carousell sellers who take to the platform not for profits but for charity, the unity of people as they stand against the Wuhan Coronavirus and of course, friendly neighbours who volunteer to give out free masks.

As such, I think we can still look forward to the better future, because the Wuhan Virus is not the end of us;

We’re not gonna let it be.

So let’s all lend each other a helping hand, and venture through this virus outbreak together, as one.

Note: If it’s truly an Insurance agent, however, I gotta say; he just scored high points with the community.
