Netizens Tried The Newest Ghost Pepper Instant Noodles And It Didn’t End Well

For a long time, Samyang has captivated us.

Lured us.

Terrified us.

I’m talking, of course, about their infamous spicy noodles.

Sheesh, just looking at it got me all hot and bothered.

Yet, mortified as I am, Samyang’s instant noodles are still not the spiciest in this world.

Not even close.

Because unbeknownst to us, another flavour has been rising from the ashes…

Disgusting… Utterly Disgusting

The brainchild of our all-time favourite noodle snack brand, Mamee’s Ghost Pepper Noodles has been dubbed as the Spiciest Noodle rendition in Malaysia…

And we’re not doubting it.

Said to be infused with ghost pepper, an interspecific hybrid chilli pepper that boasts a Scoville scale of 1,041,427 SHU, the noodles have terrified audiences all around the world, including us. And for good reason too. The Samyang Chicken Flavoured Ramen noodles, which was already considered to be really spicy, stands at a mere 8,706 Scovilles unit (spiciness level).

A reminder again: our favourite Ghost Pepper Instant Noodles hits above 1,000,000 Scovilles unit.

Talk about overkill.

And Yet The Question Begets;

Is it really as spicy as they preach?

To find out, we hit up the search button to-

“Hey, let’s try it ourselves la!” our editor said.

“Right, let’s look it up hahahahahahahaha.”

Anyways, as I was saying before I was so strategically interrupted, we hit up the search button to find brave, adventurous Netizens, who’ve sold their souls for the cause.

Thankfully, it wasn’t as hard as we expected. Hooray for the Internet.

Netizens Tried The Newest Ghost Pepper Instant Noodles And It Didn’t End Well

First and foremost, we have the undisputed kings of the Internet:

BuzzFeed.

Pitting six seasoned spice eaters (including an Asian) against the infamous Ghost Pepper Instant Noodles, we watched with bated breath as the video unfolded.

It wasn’t pleasant.

For starters, you’d expect the Asian to be the toughest cos Asian. But as it turns out…

Our representative KO’d first.

Lamenting how it was an ‘out of body’ experience, like literally, he was dying.

From the inside.

And it wasn’t just him either. Everyone felt it from the first bite, though incredibly…

She seemed comparatively okay.

Comparatively.

More Responses

Now I know what you’re thinking.

“It’s just BuzzFeed. They can’t take spice. It’s not a fair gauge. We want justice!”

And while I can’t exactly give you justice, I can give you…

More responses.

After combing through the Internet for around 72 hours, we located another group of brave candidates to supplement your inner sadist curiosity.

A group of Korean girls, to be exact.

After all, they do say that girls have a higher tolerance for things.

We’re just gonna see whether it’s true.

After they had their first bite, we had some rather startling news:

It’s apparently not as spicy as they thought.

But just as you’re beginning to let your guard down…

It came.

(What were you thinking ah?)

And like the first one, it wasn’t pleasant.

What About Hot Guys… Literally?

Just to round things up, we unearthed another video response to the intimidating entity…

A video of three hot guys, to be exact.

So how did they fare? Was it mild… or death itself?

We watched…

And watched…

And watched as they felt it from the very first bite.

In fact, save for the only non-Chinese in the video, everyone else was dreading a second bite.

Geezus.

And so… how does it seem to be like, really?

Well, from the collection of videos I’ve seen thus far, Mamee’s Ghost Pepper Instant Noodles seems to be three things:

  • Smells good
  • Tastes like barbeque
  • Insanely spicy

And honestly, as one Netizen so aptly puts it:

“It’s not for the average person. You might actually die.”

So try it at your own risk, alright?

We don’t want anyone dying on our hands.

Where Do You Get It?

Good news, folks. You don’t have to cross customs in order to get your hands on one, because apparently…

These noodles are available in Singapore 7-Eleven stores!

However, do take note that they’ll only be available for 2 months, starting in September. So if you wanna get it…

You should probably get it soon.

Price: $2.90

Duration: September till November or stocks last, whichever is earlier

And with that in mind…

All the best. 😉

By the way, guess what? Someone just bought two cups into the office. We’d be doing a review very soon.

But if you see that we’re no longer coming out with an article per hour, then you’d know that everyone in Goody Feed has turned into Pepper Ghost.
