Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few weeks, you’ll know that Singapore residents are going to get another pair of new reusable masks from 30 Nov 2020 for free.

Collection Details

Collection of the free masks starts on 30 Nov 2020 (Monday) at 10am and ends on 13 Dec 2020 at 11.59pm.

The masks can be collected at the vending machines scattered around the island.

Here are the places you can expect to find them at:

And unlike the previous few times, you’re going to see quite a few changes in the masks that are given out to residents this time around.

Size & Colour

For one, you’ll finally get reusable masks in black instead of the white which turns yellowish easily.

To top it off, there are four different sizes to choose from.

The masks come in the following sizes:

  • Small
  • Medium
  • Large
  • Extra large

The small size masks are free for children aged 8 and below so if you happen to be an adult with a small face, you’ll have to pre-order size S masks for yourself.

If you’re wondering about the suitable mask size you choose to get, there’s a measurement guide for you:

To find out what your mask size is, measure the distance between the middle of your eyes and the bottom of your chin.

If you’re in between two sizes, you can opt for one size up.

It is recommended to check for the correct fit before heading down to collect your free masks.

Can Be Used 50 Times

As the Covid-19 pandemic drags on, our ability and technology to combat the coronavirus improve as well.

Unlike previous masks which can only be washed 30 times, the new mask that you’ll get from next week onwards can be washed up to 50 times.

There’s even a calendar located in the leaflet that comes with the masks to keep track of how many washes your masks has already gone through.

It also has antibacterial properties and, when used with a filter (that we’ll talk about later), has a Viral Filtration Efficiency of 98%.

Filter

Each kit provided contains two reusable masks and three filters.

These antimicrobial masks are similar to those provided in the National Day Parade (NDP) fun pack, which were distributed in August.

The similarity is that they are shaped to fit the face.

Also known as 3D masks, they come with a pocket behind for one to insert a filter in, should extra protection be required when going to crowded places.

Here’s how you use the filter:

When you wash the mask, you have to wash the filter and the mask separately.

As for why they’re providing you with two masks? It’s so you can wash one and still have another to wear.

Isn’t that sweet?

Collection Process

The collection process for the masks this time is similar to the previous two times, except you need to go through one extra step: choosing the size of your masks.

Be careful about choosing because after it’s dispensed from the vending machine, you can’t exchange or refund your masks due to hygiene reasons.

Each mask kit will cost you $12.
