‘New Version’ of Avengers: Endgame is Coming Back to Theatres With Additional Scenes Next Week

Do you know that someone has watched Avengers: Endgame a whopping 128 times?

Do the maths and you’ll realise he’s been in the theatres for more than 384 hours. That’s almost 16 full days.

What’s even sicker is that he’s still not sick of it.

I don’t know about him, but I can’t even bear to watch it one time (sorry, Marvel fans. Personal opinion.)

And this news seemed to be catered specially for him, because the film’s coming back to theatres…this time with additional scenes.

Avengers: No Endgame

The highly anticipated movie was out in Singapore on 24 April 2019; that’s about two months ago.

Suffice to say, it has already lost its momentum; a check on local cinema sites show that you can buy a seat still have the seats beside you for free—though there are still some seats that are occupied lah.

But soon, the tickets might fly off the shelf again after the Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige, said something in an interview.

During Spider-Man: Far From Home press junket in London, the head of Marvel Studios told Comicbook.com that Avengers: Endgame is “reentering” the cinema with extra scenes that weren’t in the first release.

We are doing that,” Feige. “I don’t know if it’s been announced. And I don’t know how much… Yeah, we’re doing it next weekend.”

A Few Surprises as Well

In a separate interview with Screen Rant, it’s confirmed that it’s not an extended cut, but a “few surprises”:

He said, “Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises. Which will be next weekend.”

That means if it’s coming to Singapore as well, we could be seeing the new release on 29 June 2019.

Of course, if you think about it, it might have been a calculated move right from the start.

Beat Avatar; Promote Spider-Man: Far From Home

Avengers: Endgame, so far, has already amassed a whopping USD$2.744 billion globally. So far, the highest grossing movie is Avatar that has a worldwide box office of $2.788 billion.

Endgame can still catch up since it’s still in theatres, but I’m 101% sure this new move by Marvel would ensure that they’ll definitely break the record.

And the other reason for the sudden “re-release”?

You’d have realised (in the past when you still watch TV) that Channel 5 would air predecessors of movies that are coming out during prime hours; this is because people like to watch the predecessor before watching the new movie. Kind of like a refresher thingy.

With Spider-man: Far From Home coming out on 2 July 2019, the demand for Endgame (its direct predecessor) would be high; what better way to push you to the cinema for a rewatch than with a “new release”?

Now, it doesn’t matter whether you think the movies are stupid; you just need to know the people making them are genius.
