A deadly car fire on Nicoll Highway has claimed one life and sent two others to hospital on Sunday, 2 Mar 2025.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the incident at approximately 2:10PM along Nicoll Highway towards Guillemard Road, just before the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) entrance.
The victim was trapped inside the vehicle, which caught fire following a road traffic accident. Firefighters extinguished the blaze using a water jet before discovering a person inside the burnt vehicle.
A paramedic pronounced the individual dead at the scene.
Multiple Vehicles Involved
Seven people from other vehicles involved in the accident were assessed by SCDF personnel.
Two of these individuals were transported to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for treatment, while the remaining five declined medical transport.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) posted an alert on social media platform X at 2:20PM on Sunday about the accident, announcing that the entrance to Nicoll Highway was closed as a result.

Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes while emergency services worked at the scene.
SCDF responders quickly arrived at the scene to manage the fire and provide medical assistance to those affected by the accident.
The police were also at the location, though further details about the investigation have not yet been released.
