This is why you should never judge a book by its cover because you’ll never know who you meet. Very often, just because people do not dress their part, it doesn’t mean that they are any less capable than you.
A shabbily-dressed man from Thailand was ignored by motor-bicycle dealers because people had the impression that he wasn’t able to afford a motor-bicycle. Therefore, he was repeatedly shunned by many dealers because “he couldn’t possibly afford one of those superbikes.”
But first, here’s a look at how the man was dressed when he visited these dealers.
Granted, he does not like a “regular” customer who would frequent a motorbike shop, but that does not deny him any lesser attention. And, when he finally got some attention in a big bike shop, it only took him just minutes to make up his mind before he said “I’ll have that one!” and he pulled out 600,000 baht in cash from his baggy pants.
The story was also featured on a Facebook fan page called “Maxsingburimotorbike” that said you should not judge a book by its cover. The page also said that the man went to motorbike shops but the sales assistants ignored him because they thought he had no money.
Reporters then caught up with the man’s sister who commented that her brother is an honest and hard-working mechanic who has partially retired from work.
The man doesn’t smoke, drink nor gamble. The reason why he wanted to purchase the bike was to reward himself for all the hard work he has done in his life and finally buy something he has been dreaming about.
We should really be proud of what this man has achieved and learn from him.
The person who served him must be drowning from all the commission he/she has earned. And for those who shunned him based on how he was dressed, well, shame on you.
