You may have heard of established businesses responding to negative Google reviews…inappropriately. But how about an established secondary school such as the North Vista Secondary School in Singapore?
That was what happened over the past few days. Here’s what happened.
North Vista Secondary School is Having Great Fun With Google Reviews
On 20 June 2023, Tiktok user @singapore_blogz uploaded a video showing unusual movements on the North Vista Secondary School’s Google Business Review page:
North Vista Secondary School started responding to its Google reviews like a, well, teenager going through puberty. Literally.
Here are a few highlights shown from the video:
Sometimes, the school seemingly accepted the bad feedback as well:
But generally, these two-word replies would make any school administrator tear off their hair.
As of the time of writing, the sassy replies has been removed from the North Vista Secondary School’s Google Business Page:

Google Business Profile Verification Process
While it’s unknown whether the admin has ties to North Vista Secondary School, do note that any Google user can become the owner of a place by adding missing places.
Granted, they’ll need to get past the verification process first.
Google currently offers five ways for businesses to verify the authenticity of their claim.
For example, for the video recording option, you have to show yourself entering the backend of the business to show proof of management.
For post cards, you’ll need to have access to mail receiving point to input the verification code to process the claim application.
Regardless of the bad reviews, it seems that not all students or alumni disliked their time at the school.
Back in October 2022, a couple returned to North Vista Secondary School for their pre-wedding shoot.

I’ll dare say that these scenes wouldn’t look out of place in Taiwanese movies such as Our Times.
Unsuprisingly, the video was well-received, garnering over 14k likes and nearly 1.2k shares.
