My guy friends have told me this particular sentence before:
“99% of the guys watch pornography, and the 1% who doesn’t, is lying.”.
You make the call whether this is real or not.
So anyway, this guy here got a little too carried away with his “fantasy” and decided to start filming people.
Filmed Men Showering
Filming definitely does not sound like a crime, but it definitely is a crime when you do it without their knowledge and while they are showering.
The 24-year-old Nanyang Technological University (NTU) fresh graduate was caught filming a number of men showering at Toa Payoh Safra Clubhouse without their knowledge.
According to TODAYonline, Koh Kah Hock had been recording obscene videos at the clubhouse since January last year and was only caught in June last year while filming a 31-year-old man.
Snuck His Hand Under The Cubicle
On the day that Koh was caught, he was said to be preparing for a shower at the clubhouse after swimming. He then felt a sudden urge to record videos of the males who were in the toilet.
Koh had successfully recorded two other men showering and was only caught when he tried to film the third victim.
The 31-year-old man saw Koh’s hand extending to his cubicle from the cubicle next to his and tried to grab the phone.
The victim then tussled for the phone and took Koh to the lifeguard on duty. Koh’s particulars were then handed to the security officer who lodged a police report.
Hundreds Of Obscene Videos Saved
Koh was arrested the next day and was found to have kept obscene videos of naked men on his laptop and hard disk.
Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Kevin Ho said that the videos were kept for Koh’s personal gratification.
Koh’s lawyer, Mr John Koh, argued in his defence that the accused was a first-time offender who has a “decent background” and has the “potential to be a very useful member of society”.
Erm… in video production?
OKAY, I’M KIDDING, don’t start bashing me.
Koh’s lawyer also asked for a three-week jail sentence and stressed that the men in the films were in “mere states of undress” and not engaging in any sexual activity. He added that the films were not distributed.
Koh will be jailed for 24 days and fined $2,000 for making an obscene film.
Pornography In Singapore
In Koh’s defence, I believe he was a little too stressed and resorted to a wrong way of relieving these feelings.
He also received his punishment and I sincerely do hope that he will realise his mistakes and be a better person from there.
As for those of you who are looking for some ways to “satisfy your pleasure”, do note that according to Media Literacy Council, it is illegal to keep, distribute or sell pornographic materials under Penal Code and Undesirable Publications Act.
Well, I think MLC got it right this time lah.
It is also illegal under the Film Act to keep, distribute or sell pornographic contents. Which means to say, if you were to view pornography content, you are not allowed to store, download or share the materials.
So, don’t even think of producing any of these contents too, because it is obviously illegal.
Here’s a simplified summary of the South Korea martial law that even a 5-year-old would understand:
