It’s official: In Dec, HDB / URA car park fees will increase. Here’s the amount

Guess it doesn’t take too long for the increase to occur.

Last week, we were told that the parking fees of public carparks (those HDB / URA car parks) will be revised. Today, HDB and URA have released the official numbers. This change will take effect from December this year.

Here’re the changes in a nutshell.

White lots
$0.50 per 1/2-hour carpark will be revised to $0.60 per 1/2-hour (20% increase)

Yellow lots
$1.00 per 1/2-hour carpark will be revised to $1.20 per 1/2-hour (20% increase)

Overnight parking
Strangely, we couldn’t find any information about this. Maybe it remains at $4?
(Update on 1 July 2016: Overnight parking will be at $5 instead of $4.)

Season parking in HDB
$65 per month carpark will be revised to $80 per month (23% increase)
$90 per month carpark will be revised to $110 per month (22% increase)
$75 per month car park will be revised to $95 per month ((26% increase)

Second car in an HDB household
Currently, if you have a second car in an HDB household, or if you intend to buy a season parking in an HDB carpark you don’t live in, you’ll pay the normal season parking fee, provided that there are lots available (as priorities are given to the first car or residents).
Come December, you’ll have to pay $90 (previously $65), $120 (previously $90) or $105 (previously $75) instead.

Family Season Parking
It will still be 50% off the season parking rate.

Motorbike parking
There won’t be any change.

What to do with the old parking coupons?
if you still have the old parking coupons (those in $0.50, $1.00 or $4.00), you can exchange them to the new value ones by topping up the difference in HDB, URA and places that sell parking coupons from early October 2016 onwards.

The last revision was made fourteen years ago—hopefully, the next one would be fourteen years later?
