Oh man, this #truestory of a man being friendzoned is sadness overload

Friendzone: it’s a painful word for guys and the best excuse for girls. Most guys would have experienced it before, but this guy has taken it to the next level—whether it’s the things he did or simply the fact that he posted his efforts online.

A Hardwarezone forums user, aptly named Sausage, started a thread that looked so clickbaity, you can’t help but to read his story: “I spent >120 hours making this for her, fly to her country personally to deliver, and guess wt hpn?”

With over 622 replies, I’ll summarize this sad story for you, so that bros out there can also feel his pain. The backstory of how Sausage and the girl met isn’t told, but Sausage seems to like the girl a lot.

One day, Sausage made an exact replica model of a bike that the girl rides, even down to the customized parts.

He did it from scratch, using presumably materials that we’ve often used in our D & T lessons. All in all, he spent over 120 hours making it, skipping his lunch during work and spending all his waking hours, other than working hours, on it.

He then flew all the way from Singapore to another country, where the girl is, to pass her the gift. In what seems like a melodramatic Channel 8 scene, the girl took it and ran off into a taxi without a single word.

Sausage chased after her (this time, more like a Korean drama) but did not catch up with her. Five minutes later, the girl texted Sausage, saying that he shouldn’t chase after her and that she was angry. Sausage then took a plane back to Singapore, dejected.

Then he saw the girl posting an image of the replica on her Facebook, describing it as something that her friend in Singapore had given as a gift. There was no mention of his name at all.

The post itself garnered 18 Likes, and the replies were mixed. Some, in the typical EDMW fashion, joked at how he had been friendzoned, while some related their own experiences of being friendzoned.

Going through the thread will indeed show you that you’re not alone in being friendzoned. You can read the thread in its entirety here.

But of course, this is the Internet, so you’ll have to decide whether it’s a #truestory or #youvebeentrolled.
