Okay, the hype of Descendants of the Sun has just reached a whole new level with this latest news.
Literally.
The drama is insanely popular in China, with over 1 billion views of the show streamed in Baidu ’s video-streaming affiliate iQiyi.com, the platform that had bought the exclusive rights to broadcast in China. It is so well-liked that even China’s Ministry of Public Security warned Chinese viewers that watching too much of it could lead to “marital strife and criminal behaviour”.
Okay, we get the idea: it’s just as popular in China as it is in Singapore and Malaysia. But with Singapore’s population of around just 5 million compared to China with over 1 billion, you can expect more crazy stunts from the Chinese there.
And here’s what takes the cake: forget about that time when a husband wanted to have a plastic surgery to look like Song Joong-ki when his wife was too obsessed with the show: this is even crazier.
There’re hell notes printed with Captain Yoo Si-jin’s image.
Like, seriously.
While some media have reported that the move is made to let the departed watch the show, or just as a form of offerings to the departed who might be a fan of Descendants of the Sun, some have said that they hated Song Joong-ki so much (hey, for every fan, there’s a hater, okay?), they’ve resorted to “burning” him.
I don’t know about you, but all I was thinking is this: could this be the foreshadow of Captain Yoo Si-jin in the drama?
Over in TikTok, there’s a drama involving property agents that’s caused by us. Here’s what happened:
