As a North girl myself, I would hate to take sides, but the “East Side Best Side” argument might have just earned another point in my book.

On 12 June 2024, a brand new mall in Pasir Ris (aptly named Pasir Ris Mall) graced our shores and opened its doors to Singaporeans residing in the east.

A hop, skip and a jump away from both Pasir Ris MRT station and Pasir Ris Bus Interchange, the four-storey mall boasts 150 shops and a wide array of dining, retail and entertainment options.

Pasir Ris Mall is Part of Condo Project

Allgreen Properties is behind the construction of Pasir Ris Mall, which is part of a bigger project with Pasir Ris 8, a 99-year leasehold private condo. Back then, it was announced that the mall would be ready by the second quarter of 2024.

According to their website, Pasir Ris Mall will have 250,000 square feet of space available for rent to businesses.

It’s not the only mall connected to the Pasir Ris MRT Station, however, as there is also White Sands, a 128,631 square foot mall that has been there for the last 25 years and the 1.58 million square foot Downtown East, the ever-reliable one-stop haven for families.

On 11 June 2024, Pasir Ris Mall’s Facebook page dropped a not-too-subtle series of photos that unveiled the opening of the mall.

They have also been hyping up the mall’s debut over the last couple of months, revealing footage of the mall’s construction, photos of artist renditions of the mall, and short animated clips teasing the amenities they would boast.

There is even a 3D-rendered walkthrough of the mall, which shows off the inner layout!

What You Can Look Forward to

For entertainment, Pasir Ris Mall is home to a huge 9,881 sq ft Timezone arcade. There is also a Have Fun Family Karaoke for you to show off your vocal chops (or at least pretend you have any).

For the gastronomy enthusiasts, some exciting dining options include Genki Sushi, Jollibee, Luckin Coffee, Guzman Y Gomez, and a variety of breakfast, brunch, and dining choices covering Western, Japanese, and Asian cuisines.

As for retail, visitors can enjoy perusing shops like Uniqlo, Miniso and Japan Home. Residents who live nearby can purchase groceries from Cold Storage or Scarlett, which is a China-based store that sells affordable products, including popular snacks and groceries (Underrated gem, in my opinion)

There are even some self-improvement facilities, from fitness centres to beauty salons. Of course, not forgetting the bane (and quintessential part) of every student’s existence, tuition centres.

They also reportedly have bicycle parking and shower facilities, making it a perfect spot for those cycling over from Pasir Ris Park to take a break and recharge.

For the full directory, you can visit their website!

Essentially, there seems to be something from everyone from all walks of life, from children hanging out after school to recruits waiting to hop onto the bus back to certain doom– I mean, back to basic military training!

How to Get There

Pasir Ris Mall is located on 7 Pasir Ris Central, Singapore 519612 and as mentioned, is quite literally a stone’s throw away from Pasir Ris MRT station and Bus Interchange.

As long as you’re able to get on any train across the East-West Line, you’re pretty much good to go!

So, go and explore this new mall for yourself and decide if the Easties get to have bragging rights.
