If you’ve been planning for a trip to Japan within the next few months, you might want to rethink your itinerary because another budget airline has opened up flights to and from Japan starting from early December.
Peach Aviation, a low-cost carrier which is a joint venture between All Nippon Airways (ANA) Group, Innovation Network Corporation of Japan, as well as First Eastern Aviation Holdings, will begin its daily flights between Singapore and Osaka from 5 Dec, and tickets have been on sale via its website as of yesterday (29 Aug).
We will now have a 10-minute intermission for everyone to book their flight tickets.
Details about the Peach Aviation’s new flight schedule
Now that you’re back, here’s what you should know about Peach Aviation opening its doors to Singaporean travellers.
Aside from Scoot, Peach Aviation is the only other budget airline to operate the route between Singapore and Osaka. Air Japan, a wholly owned subsidiary of ANA Group, and Zipair, owned by Japan Airlines, both only operate flights between Singapore and Tokyo.
While it was said that tickets start from S$164.20 for a one-way trip within the 5 Dec to 29 Mar, we have discovered that flights in December currently start from S$257 for 31 Dec , and S$204 in Jan 2025, both of which include 20kg checked baggage.
Passengers are able to opt for in-flight snacks, drinks and meals like bentos and katsu sandos for a fee.
During the winter schedule, Peach Aviation flights will depart from Singapore Changi Airport at 2.15am and arrive at Kansai International Airport in Osaka at 9.35am. The return flights will depart from Osaka at 6.50pm and arrive in Singapore at 1am the next morning.
Peach Aviation will operate using the Airbus A321LR aircraft with a single-aisle, 3-3 layout. The 218 seats on board each come with a USB charging port, and will offer plenty of legroom with seat pitches of between 76cm and 81cm, which the airline says is on par with full-service carriers.
Say goodbye to numb legs, tall friends.
Japan a popular choice among travellers
According to Japan National Tourism Organization, around 300,000 Singaporeans travelled to Japan in the first half of this year, and an estimated 3.14 million international travellers visited Japan in June alone, marking the highest number of monthly foreign visitors to the country ever recorded.
Osaka, which is known for its street food and vibrant nightlife, has attractions such as Universal Studios Japan, Osaka Castle and the Dotonbori district. If exploring the city is not enough, you can also take a bullet train to other regions for some shopping and sightseeing.
Time to add Osaka to the list of travel destinations.
