Travelling has become a long-lost treasure, a rarity that we can only imagine in our minds. We can only sigh and long for the day we can jet off on a plane to some exotic location or faraway place.
P.S. If you didn’t know, Singapore is the most “vacation-deprived” country in the world. It’s easy to see why, really.
Of course, being Singaporeans, one of our favourite vacation spots would be neighbouring Malaysia. Whether it be popping by Johor Bahru for a quick shopping trip or visiting Malacca for some good food, Malaysia would definitely be on the top of our lists of places to visit once the pandemic ends.
But alas, as COVID-19 continues to ravage our world, Malaysia remains hard-hit by the pandemic.
What do I do now that I can’t go to Malaysia to makan? You sob into your pillow at night, dreaming of the authentic, 100% Malaysian nasi lemak or ikan bakar that you ate across the Causeway seemingly a million years ago.
Don’t worry: if you can’t travel, at least your taste buds can.
Enjoy 50% Off When Dining-In at Penang Culture; 3 New Dishes for 10-Year Anniversary
It looks like Penang Culture is here to save the day.
To celebrate what it calls “10 years of sharing authentic Malaysian cuisine in Singapore”, Penang Culture has launched three new dishes.
Penang Culture prides itself on serving Malaysian food that is “the very embodiment of flavourful authentic cuisine that is rich in heritage as it is in taste.” Its food is sure to bring you back to the good ol’ days where we could drive and jalan through Malaysia without any worries.
Starting from March 2021 and lasting till May 2021, Penang Culture is offering delicious new additions to its menu. What’s unique about these dishes, however, is that each one is inspired by a different part of Malaysia!
Penang Culture has promised to bring you on a fantastic gastronomical journey through the peninsula. You won’t be doing any walking; your taste buds will be the one flying from north to south for you.
So if you’re missing the long road trips through the big, big land of Malaysia (minus the ungodly four-hour jams, because we sure do not miss that), be sure to check out these three new dishes.
The 3 New Original Dishes
Inspired by the rich history of Malacca comes the Malacca Golden King Prawn Seafood Bee Hoon. Priced at $24.90 (u.p. S$49.90), the dish contains a multitude of fine picks from under the sea.
With king prawns, clams, and squid stewed in a thick, creamy milk and cheese broth, this succulent, rich dish is sure to please the finest of palettes to make you feel like royalty.
Next is the KL Crispy Breaded Chicken at $8.90 (u.p. $17.80). Hailing from the capital of Kuala Lumpur, the dish encapsulates the essence of modern-day Malaysia.
Described as a perfect fusion between the West and the East, the dish is a contemporary reflection of the bustling metropolis that is Kuala Lumpur.
Last but definitely not least is the Penang Fragrant Kam Heong Clams at $9.90 (u.p. $19.80). Evidently based on the flavours of Penang, this dish will definitely transport you all the way to the north of Malaysia.
A special ingredient in this dish is the Chef’s homemade kam heong sauce, which elevates the intense flavour to an unprecedented level. If you’re a lover of hae bee hiam, this dish will be sure to take your breath away.
Of course, Penang Culture will continue to stay true to its goal of providing authentic Malaysian cuisine. What better way to do that than with some oldies but goldies?
For those seeking something more traditional, classic dishes at Penang Culture include the Penang Rojak, the Penang Premium Nasi Lemak, and the D24 Johor King Chendol.
