Pfizer is the name, and a vaccine is their game.

No doubt by now you’ve heard about this vaccine developed in tandem with BioNTech.

It’s already been approved by several countries and we’re even getting a shipment at the end of December.

In the US, the vaccine has been cleared for emergency use and aims to have 100 million doses distributed by March 2021.

Pfizer’s CEO Hasn’t Got the COVID-19 Vaccine Yet Because He Doesn’t Want to Cut in Line

However, Pfizer’s CEO, Albert Bourla, has said that he has not got his shot yet.

Wait, is it because…

No.

CNBC reported that on 14 Dec, Bourla mentioned that he doesn’t want to ‘cut in line’.

Even though Pfizer has produced the vaccine, he states that he isn’t a frontline health worker.

The aforementioned group, along with the elderly, are one of the target groups of the emergency use batch of vaccines.

Bourla is 59 years old and is in “relatively good health”, so he doesn’t want to take it away from those who really need it.

The CEO also says that “none of the executives and board members will cut the line.”

Pushing For People To Be Vaccinated

In an interview, Bourla was asked to comment on people’s hesitancy in considering the vaccine.

He said that he wished that the pandemic wasn’t so serious so people could have the “luxury” to think about getting vaccinated.

He also said that not doing it is a decision that could affect not only oneself but people around them.

“Trust science.”

When asked when he was getting his shot, Bourla said that he would get it as soon as he can.

However, priorities would still go to those who really need it first.

What he does acknowledge, is that people might feel more confident about taking the vaccine if he were to do it, since he’s the CEO.

Still, Bourla said that executives and board members will get it whenever they’re scheduled to at a later date.

Presently, the US has the most recorded COVID-19 deaths in the world, at over 306,000 as of this writing.

Causes For Concern

A point of concern for people who are considering getting vaccinated could be potentially serious side effects.

During the UK’s mass vaccination using the Pfizer vaccine, two people had severe reactions to the vaccine as they’ve anaphylaxis.

Both have been steadily recovering.

People who have had a history or are presently suffering from serious allergies have been warned against taking Pfizer’s vaccine.
