If you’ve been wanting to greet the new Member of Parliament that you’ve voted almost a month ago…then just go to his or her Facebook account and send a message lah, because MPS is not the medium to do that.

But if you need help and can’t request for help online, then you can finally head down to a Meet-The-People Session (MPS) soon.

Physically, that is.

Physical Meet-The-People Session Can Resume from Tomorrow (10 Aug) With a Cap of 50 People

Lest you didn’t know, if you face any issue, you can always approach your MP for help through many channels. But if you’d like to do it the traditional way, you can head down to a weekly MPS to talk directly to your MP.

However, since March this year, MPS has been kind of different due to COVID-19: depending on the MPs, the MPSes been done mostly virtually, though. For example, in the case of Tin Pei Ling, she’s provided a number for residents to contact, and will conduct her usual MPS via phone calls and video calls at the scheduled time.

Look at how focused she is. Amazing camera.

And of course, we’d have to look at Jamus Lim, the Sengkang Oppa. Fans Residents who’ve voted for the man who can warm the cockles of many hearts haven’t had a chance to talk to him physically about their problems yet, as there hasn’t been an official MPS conducted by Dr Lim since he was elected into Parliament:

From tomorrow onwards, physical MPS can finally resume.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) said that from 10 August 2020, physical MPS can resume with precautionary measures, as it’s aimed at facilitating interaction between MPs and their constituents now that the country is in Phase Two.

The crowd size is capped at 50, but some places might have a lower cap as it depends on the MPS venue. The crowd would include the MP, activists and residents (include those waiting).

Now, do note that even when this is allowed, it doesn’t mean that all MPs would immediately resume the physical session next week. You might need to check with your MP or his/her volunteers if you intend to attend one.
