An accident along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) on the night of 31 May involved a line-up of seven cars, with one car atop another.
Here’s what we know so far.
Seven-Car Accident
In videos posted on TikTok and Facebook, seven cars were seen lined up against one another on the right-most lane of the PIE. Amongst these cars were a BlueSG car and a taxi.
Most startlingly, a Toyota can be seen directly on top of another Toyota. The video also showed people making phone calls by the side of the expressway, with an ambulance there as well.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to an accident on the PIE at about 10.40pm. The accident occurred along PIE toward Changi Airport, near Eunos Flyover.
Two Taken to Hospital
SCDF said that they sent two people to Changi General Hospital. They assessed three other people for minor injuries, but they refused to be taken to the hospital.

Similar Accident in 2020
On 28 August 2020, a similar accident happened where a car was atop another car on the CTE.
According to various Facebook uploads, it seems that a chain collision had happened. Similar to this accident, this one also happened on the right-most lane of the expressway.
In this lane, drivers drive the fastest and they might not have been able to stop in time when the car before them braked suddenly.
