Lawmaker Was Complaining About Pigeon Poop
He was at a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) stop, also known as the Pigeon Poop station for the horrendous amount of pigeon poop splattered outside the station.
He was trying to solve the poop problem by asking the CTA to install a power hose to wash down the area when they build their new escalators.
While he was doing the interview, he suddenly touched the top of his head and said, “I think they got me.”
Who’s they? Got what?
Apparently, a disgruntled pigeon decided to poop on his head.

It’s Not Just America That Has The Pigeon Problem
Singapore’s having it as well.
Back in 2018, the now-defunct Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) urge Singaporeans to stop the feeding of pigeons.
In 2017, the AVA had received 5,500 pigeon-related feedback, a 34% increase from the 4,100 received in 2016.
Pigeons don’t just bring the shitty problem of having poop everywhere, including sidewalks and laundry.
They also bring attract pests and spread diseases as well.

Increased Enforcement Against Pigeon Feeders
Over the past three years, 682 enforcement notices were issued for pigeon-feeding offences.
The National Parks Board (NParks) conducts surveillance operations at known pigeon-feeding hotspots.
Members of the public are also encouraged to step forward with information on other hotspots so that NParks can conduct their surveillance effectively.
In Yio Chu Kang, cameras were used to nab residents who were found feeding the pigeons and their images posted up around the neighbourhood as deterrence.
While Member of Parliaments (MPs) were hoping that the pilot programme could be rolled out across Singapore, it was mentioned that the project still needed some fine-tuning before it can be done.

So Stop Feeding The Pigeons
Sometimes, you’d see households throwing out pieces of bread and leftover rice for the pigeons to feast over.
Other times, you’ll see pigeons (think Lau Pa Sat) flocking over to leftover food and feasting before the cleaner comes over to clear the plates.
Maybe you can do your part and convince your neighbours to stop feeding the pigeons and start clearing your own trays after you eat.
