Open Fields Managed by SLA Have Been Closed As Well As People Anyhowly Gathered There

Another day of Circuit Breaker is going to be over soon. We’re finally 78 days into—

Reader Bao: No, it’s been only 6 days

Oh. Yeah, 6 days, with 22 more days to go.

And another area has now been closed because we’ve all been naughty.

Playfields Managed by SLA Have All Closed

A day after all beaches were sealed off in Singapore, another innocent area has become a victim of COVID-19 caused by rebellious people who just don’t know how to follow instructions:

Playfields.

I bet you’re wondering: simi is a playfield?

It’s just a field for people to play lah.

Basically something like this:

Reader Bao: Wait, this kind of field belongs to the Government?

Well of course. If they belong to some developer, that would have become a shopping mall instead.

According to Singapore Land Authority, they’ve observed that people are gathering around these open fields, and as you probably know by now, you’re not supposed to gather anywhere.

There is a playfield near where I stay and I can vouch for that: before Circuit Breaker, the field is relatively empty. Since Circuit Breaker broke our lives, people are suddenly kicking balls and throwing food trays towards each other at the field.

The examples given by SLA are those located at Tanjong Rhu, Jalan Tembusu, Loyang Avenue, Parry Avenue, Woodleigh Park and Strathmore Road.

According to Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Singapore and MP for Mountbatten SMC, he has also spotted the trend at a field, and urged people to stop congregating there.

So yes, if we continue to anyhowly gather, the only space we can walk and take a breather might just be from our room to the living room.
