This year seems to be the best year for Pokemon so far. Yes, even better than Pokemon GO.
First, you have the Pokemon movie which features a cute Pikachu with a severe addiction for coffee.
And it received raving reviews from movie-goers. Including from my sassy colleague, GY.
Just a disclaimer, though, I’ve watched the movie myself after reading his review and I’ll be honest here, go without expectations and the movie’s going to turn out great. #HonestDisappointingReview
But if you, like GY, is a closet Pokemon fan who hugs five Pikachus to sleep every single night, then you’ll be psyched to know that someplace in the world, someone’s putting Pokeballs into your bubble tea.
Yes.
Pokeball. Boba.

First, the picture.
Woahhh.
OneZo Tapioca went viral after their Canada outlets released this beautiful Pokemon-themed-Pokeball drink.
The pokeballs are made from red rice, bamboo charcoal and coconut.
So What Has Canada Got To Do With Us?
Don’t worry, I’m not asking you to fly to Canada. Instead, I’m simply asking you to make your way across the causeway.
That’s right, guys.
Malaysians have, once again one-upped Singaporeans in our eternal battle for food supremacy.
It turns out that Malaysia has OneZo Tapioca as well.
And according to WorldofBuzz, they’re going to launch the Pokeball boba as well.
Here’s Where They’re Located:
- SS15 Subang
- Melaka
- Muar, Johor
- Mount Austin, Johor
Whelp, I don’t know about you but I’m going to wait till I go to KL or Melaka for a holiday before I try it for myself.
But hey, if you’re staying nearby the checkpoint or you’re just crazy enough to want to try your hand at the drink, here’s how.
The closest outlet (from Singapore) is an 18-minute drive from the Johor Bahru Checkpoint.
That or pray that they’ll set their eyes on Singapore.
