It’s always a nightmare if someone you know goes missing.
Which goes without saying that if it happens to your child, you’d be more than terrified.
Recently, a certain missing person incident occurred.
But thankfully, this one has a happy ending to it, all thanks to man’s best friend.
Police Dog Reportedly Found Girl Who Went Missing from a Foodcourt
The incident happened on 30 Jan.
Lianhe Zaobao reported that a 6-year-old girl went missing in a food court, Essen at The Pinnacle, on Cantonment Road, Tanjong Pagar.
The girl went missing around 4pm that day and was apparently the daughter of a female stall owner.
Not too long later, the police were called and arrived at the scene a few hours later.
They also brought along a dog from the K-9 unit, which trains police dogs to aid for anti-crime purposes or help find people.
The officers found a child’s backpack and had the dog track the girl down through smell.
Tracking Down The Missing Girl
According to Zaobao, one bystander heard an officer mentioning a block number.
Most of the officers left to investigate, leaving one female officer with the stall owner to await the results.
It was later confirmed that they had found the missing child around the block which was mentioned.
She has since been returned safely to her mother.
Thank you, police doggo.

She was last seen on CCTV footage entering a lift and taking it up to the 10th floor with the two suspects.
No one has seen her since.
In December 2020, Ahmad Danial Mohamed Rafa’ee, now 36, and Ragil Putra Setia Sukmarahjana, now 33, are suspected to be her murderers.
The former has since been arrested and was last seen in court on 28 Jan.
The Institute of Mental Health has a report on Ahmad following a psychiatric evaluation.
However, the details of the report have not been revealed.
Ragil has not been found yet, though he is suspected to be overseas.
If convicted of murder, both men face the death penalty.
