In this digital age, anything is possible with the touch of a finger.
You can do all sorts of things, such as creating a Telegram group just to share obscene photos and videos of Singaporean girls.
Sounds familiar? Yup, I’m talking about the Telegram group, “SG Nasi Lemak”.

Ongoing Investigation
Just in case you were living under a rock, this Telegram group was reported by some of the victims for sharing obscene photos and videos of Singaporean girls, and it has nothing to do with food.
Some of them even allegedly included upskirt photos in the group.
Currently, an investigation is ongoing for SG Nasi Lemak. Hence, this group is no longer accessible anymore.
Even though it is no longer accessible, screenshots from Chinese evening daily news Lianhe Wanbao showed that there were more than 44,000 members when it was still active.
That’s like the size of one Secondary 4 cohort across Singapore. Imagine your entire cohort back in Secondary school being in the same telegram group.
Where Did It Come From?
According to a reader Wanbao interviewed, the group had been set up for more than a year. It is only with more people coming to know of it recently that its membership had spiked in the past few months.
In other words, it went viral.
Joining a Telegram group may seem easy and just a click away, but you’ll have to pay $30 as an “entry fee” before gaining access to this particular group.

I’m so disappointed that this isn’t about food when I first heard of the Telegram group name. I mean, “SG Nasi Lemak“, $30, and 44,000 participants? It just sounds to me like people are paying to attend a huge buffet.
Except that you’re paying to gain access to obscene materials of Singaporean girls online. *Shudders in disgust*Â
Speaking Out
Anyway, moving on. A Twitter user, Darcel Anastasia, condemned the group on 30 September on Twitter as she was mentioned in SG Nasi Lemak.
This continuously prompted other Twitter users to express their disgust at the content being circulated in the chat group.
The fact that someone would have the audacity to start such a chat group is awful.
